Any one put 33"s on 4th Gen with DS 2.5/1.5??

Wanting to put 33"s on but cant find any pics or threads of anyone doing this. I have 16" stock wheels. I am looking at 255/85r16 or 285/75r16. If you have done this, what size tires and what did u have to do for it to work? Or if you know of a thread that would help me. thx!

33's will barely fit with a Cornfed 3/2, when I say barely I mean that the body mount had to be chopped and the fender had to be trimmed, significantly. I would recommend going with a 275.70R16 as the biggest. I may be wrong, but I think that's right.

Another option might be to get some fiberglass fenders though you would still (from what I understand) have to either run spacers or chop the body mount as mentioned above. Just out of curiosity, maybe a 3/2 lift, spacers and fenders could give you enough room to run 35's?

The rear won't clear 35's, the only people running 35" tires are running actual coilover kits and body lifts as well. Getting fiberglass fenders is overkill for just 33's. Just trim the stock fenders, cleanly, and the body mount chop will have to be done regardless of wheel spacers (even though these will be needed too) unless you go with the 255. But I will worn you those 255's look like pizza cutters.

I have 33's and didn't have to chop the body mounts. I did have to move the fender liner forward cut the corner off of the fenders and remove the mud flaps.

It didn't look lifted or right with just the DS 2.5 in the front after these were installed. I put in the FJ springs and it looks good again. I have close to a 3.5" lift with the DS and FJ combo. Just ordered UCA's to eliminate the wandering.

You're right, I forgot that 285s are 11.5" and not 12.5" wide. For the 33x12.50's that I had there was no way around not chopping the body mount. I am surprised that you did it with a 2.5 without chopping it though. It doesn't rub at all either, even at full lock?
