Any reason to stay away from 2010's?

No reason at all if you plan on keeping the vehicle for a long time. Only thing I can think of is if the exterior of the vehicle is worn or abused from being parked too close to other 4runners or customer's accidentally making scratches/scuffs on the sides as they walk past. I believe the 2010's faded away in September, so they wouldn't be that old or sitting for too long.
I would definitely inspect for and want something like that fixed. Just something I noticed at my local dealer across all vehicle lines, not just the 4runners.

If you have driven an older generation 4Runner, (I had the 3rd) Iv'e noticed the heat doesnt blow nearly as much as my 99. I am pretty dissapointed! Wondering if anyone knows how the heat is in a 4th gen! Im from New Hampshire, and right now I NEED heat, the heated seats arent even that awesome... But sure looks like a great vehicle! Love the radio and the "Party Mode" button..
(8 add'l speakers) 2011 ! I just posted a thread, asking if anyone found the same kind of thing... might possibly downgrade to 4th gen. depending on response, which so far I have none..

Absolutely not, my 2010 has been perfect.....My heat is just as good as my 4th gen and the seats are perfect. I have the seats on high until I get in the truck then I have to put them on low beacuse they get real warm and fast also. You may have an issue with yours.

I'd lamost bet my 4Runner that your blower fan is covered in dust,debris,animal dander and a good cleaning would make it blow like new again. There is a write-up around here or over on yotatech. It's actually a pretty easy job.

Ironic that this comes up in this thread. Just last night, I was searching the topic of heat in the 5th gen. Looks like I will be looking at this fix later in the week....

I agree 100%. I thought it was just me (maybe another year older made me that much more of a whimp). My 3rd gen (2000 SR5) was hot as hell within 10 minutes. I keep the fan and the heat on full blast in my 2011 SR5 and it takes me about 40 minutes before it gets too hot.

Really it's too early to tell but there probably will be a few issues that will come out as 5th gens get a few years and miles on them and that's been the case with every gen as they improve alot within a few years with each cycle.
I look at the 4th gens and IMO it seems the '03s haven't aged as well as the years that followed and have a few issues here and there that needed to be reworked and improved and I personally wouldn't touch a 4th gen til at least the '05 model year.
The 2010s on the other hand seem well sorted out for 1st year generation but I think there will be significant additions and improvements over the next few years but I would buy a 2010 with no problems.

I agree about the heat problem, my wifes Olds Alero w/ v6 heats up faster.

I think the 3rd Generation had awesome heat... but I am little and always cold and I am borderline ready to sell this thing, thinking it's not worth the payment bieng cold! I crack a window and theres zero heat! Where's the pressure!!?? Aaahhh, if I lived in FL, it would be fine... but I dont. Thinking of downgrading... even though I love my 2011 sooo much (BP Black Leather)... You ever, (or anyone else) driven 4th Generation? Is it the same as 5th, or even close to 3rd? I may be driving a 2002 limited pretty soon.... lol Ill never get sick of that body style anyway, and no payment!
