Any recommendation for quick release steering wheel

I notice a higher theft rate for 4runners lately. Its become more popular than when i first got into it a decade ago.
Just looki g for some thoughts on a quick release steering wheel.

A starter kill or battery disconnect would be a better option. Then you're not walking around carrying a steering when you remove it.

I thought Grant made a disconnect and locking steering column cap. Maybe that's just for earlier steering wheels that don't have audio/cruise controls and airbags and such, though?

Agreed, much better options. Alarms are pretty good too + kill switch.

If your worried about them driving it away at night make a kill switch, if your worried about them taking it why you are at work or the store they are probably using a tow truck. I've heard of some Toyota thieves around me that will hook a chain to your truck pull it on to a flat bed trailer and if you have an alarm they will bust a window pop the hood and have that disconnected while driving down the road.
Moral of the story, if they want it bad enough they will get it with or without a removable wheel. Or do a my buddy does with his yotas one has a big ass chain wrapped around the axle and locked to a poll in the ground and his other yota is locked behind his garage door with motion sensors inside.

I saw a girl on campus yesterday driving down the road in her honda accord with head light flashing and alarm system going off. Thought it was funny and pretty sure she didn't steal it. Just didn't know how to turn it off.

I think the airbag would be an issue. It probably unplugs but I wouldn't want to mess with that. If it blew while you were pulling the wheel off it might be messy (and expensive). I'd disable things somewhere else if you're worried about it. My 02 has a chipped key so it won't go anywhere anyway.
