Yes, all of that is true but those springs are available separately, obviously at an additional cost. I'm talking about offering a kit with the standard 600 lb coils and a kit with 650-700 lb coils.
Right, that is also true... it was an additional cost, but at least it is available for those who really want to stay with the 6112 shock...
It would be nice to see the same kit with different rate springs for the same price. It must be a cost/units sold/market needs/standardization thing... I dont know.
Personally, I think if I get to the point where I have bumper, winch, and build up to the point where I actually need a different rate springs, I would have just bought something even better which would allow me to fully customize the ride to my requirements... full threaded coilover, remote rez, with damper control.
I have the 6112, I love my 6112, I think its a awesome budget 2.5" setup, but its more of a middle ground for me. It was developed at as OE option for Toyota... on a stock weight 4Runner, they ride perfect. I wouldn't change a thing.
At the end of the day, the 6112 is still somewhat of an entry level setup for a performance setup. But its miles ahead of something like a 5100.
