Look, everyone loves THEIR Runner because it’s just an awesome truck. Within the years you mentioned in your original post, you absolutely can’t go wrong. My 2010 SR5 has 94,000 carefree miles on the clock.

I’d honestly just determine which look you like best and find the deal that falls within your wants. I didn’t expect to fall into a 2010 but the deal was there over other years so I snagged it and haven’t looked back. The differences are almost entirely cosmetic and even with my now 8 year old vehicle, it still feels entirely relevant and gives me great pride every time I step into it.

How tall are you?

I guess I'm a mid sized 5' 9", but with shorter legs and a longer torso. I'll have to sit in a few to know for sure, but I suspect I'm short enough for it to not be a problem.

That's perfect. I don't care so much about cosmetic differences -- esp since I intend to fairly heavily mod it. So if I can find an early 5th gen and save $10,000, there's a good chunk of change that can pay for the mods.
