Anybody out there?

There's a bunch of trails in GWNF that I have done. Nothing very challenging but so e scenic views which are nice. Worth the trip IMO. The pics I've seen of Shoe Creek (crabtree falls) look a bit more difficult, but that is quite a long drive.

OK, sounds good man. In the meantime, look up "Dictum Ridge", it is probably the most difficult trail, but I think we can do it.

Sweet...the pics and youtube vids seem pretty intense...but I saw a post from a jeep forum from June that said the "stairs" at dictum ridge were now closed which seemed to be the hardest part. I'm still down to go and explore, what time are you trying to leave DC Sunday morning?

I think I'll be leaving from Richmond...I think I'll target leaving around 8:30 which should put me in at the trail head by 11:30. Don't feel like making it a super early morning.
 
Just as a follow up for anyone who may be reading - we're meeting at the Sheetz in Harrisonburg off of 81 at 1130 tomorrow morning!

Looks like the Labor Day trip was a nice one. Still hoping to have my lift by October but I am not sure. I did come up with a cool sticker in some of my free time. You all will be the first on the internet to see it.

Here is a pic of the first cut, I plan on doing some other colors as well. I just hope the Jeep guys have a sense of humor seeing as how my Runner is stock. lol. If not... oh well.

After I get some more printed I plan on putting them on the rear quarters like actuall TRD logos. I will be selling these if any one is interested, I jsut dont have a price yet. My guess is anywhere from $5-$10 If you have any ideas or changes let me know and I will see what I can do. I am a novice when it comes to photoshop so try to keep it simple, lol.

Let me know what you think. I showed a FJ owner friend of mine, and asked if he wanted one and he said "I want FIVE!" lol

Haha. Thanks. I put in an order for 25 more, I have 5 sold already. Here are The color options:
1: Red JRD with black text
2: Red JRD with white text
3: Black JRD with black text

They will be $5 each plus $1 for shipping (as long as they all fit into one envelope and meet the proper weight shipping will be $1 per order)

Also have we set a date for October yet? I am hoping for late October, because I should have my suspension by then.

I doubt there are any good trails in the Fairfax / Centreville areas. I've biked the Centreville powerlines to the east of 28 and they have no trespassing signs everywhere and wouldn't be too much fun. Super short and nothing too exciting.

I change my vote to the end of October also for a trip. I think I'm going downhill biking at Wisp at the beginning of October.

An am just waiting on a friend to get his Fox suspension so I can get his OME kit. I hated outing that sticker on something that can't back it up, I am not that kinda Guy (it drives me nuts to see vehicles with stickers and they don't have any parts made by those companies.) But seeing as how I am the originator of the design I feel that I had t see how it would look and how good the quality of materials are.

I used to live in NOVA, out in bristow. I can't imagine there are any trails out there with all the developing there has been in the past few years.

I can't wait till the GWNF trip! I took the Runner off road last night for the first time just to see how she did stock. I was really surprised, it did really well. I didn't even slip a wheel once, it just crawled where ever I wanted it to go. My Chevy would have never made any of those climbs. 4Runners are tough little machines.

What kind of OME does your friend have? I just ordered my OME with 884 coils, top plate spacer and superflex coils this morning. :bigok:

On our last GWNF trip I was pleased with how well the stock 4runner did. Using the DAC really helped and everyone was looking out for the non-lifted guys. I only hit my undercarriage once and didn't even do the "trail" skid plate mod.

Nice job pulling the trigger on the lift!! Excited to see how it turns out.

And to answer your last question, the trails weren't too tough. There were a few parts that made my palms sweaty but they were off the main trail so they def aren't required.

I am not 100% sure on the kit, I think he stuck with the OME coils on all 4 corners, with the Med duty spings in the front. I am not sure if he got the top plate or not.

sounds like GWNF will be a good time. I went and did some playing around yesterday and... got stuck... I had to get a friend of my to come get me out. I completly forgot to lock the T-Case to disable TRAC. I got into some soft silty stuff and the TRAC came on and i lost all momentem. If I would have had it locked with TRAC off I would have been ok... I think.

TuckerTaxi, glad to hear you got the OME! You're turning the tables on me and making me jealous of you now!

My girlfriend loves the ride with the FJ stuff so I can't justify changing it yet. I mean, i love it myself but sometimes wish it was just slightly higher :)

When it comes to the number of mods you are still WAAAAAY ahead of me. If you already have the FJ setup it's probably not worth switching it out again. I'm sure a spacer lifts and some UCAs would make you happy. :guitar3:

ksunami44 - Please check and let us know what setup he has. There are a number of flavors of OME for very specific purposes. If he was planning on adding some weight it could give you a bad ride. Springs are the cheap part so if he has springs you don't need it's definitely worth ordering a set that meets your exact needs. BTW nice pics! Now I got the bug to get back out there!
