That trail is (forgot the actual name) the one that goes up and past Meadow/Flagpole Knob. As far as recovery I usually travel with another vehicle, kinetic rope (master pull - good stuff), regular tow rope, shackles, folding shovel, gloves, hitch mount recovery shackle, and air compressor. I have a shrockworks bumper on order and will add a winch with synthetic line at the same time.
 
Thanks gents! Will check back regularly for planning. Maybe we can incorporate some snowboarding into a trip as well. Snow Shoe out in WV? Bet there are some trails that way too.

NICE!! The shrockworks bumpers look sick on the 5th gen. Your ride is really coming along well. I have pretty much the same stuff as you. I'll probably add a hi-lift in the near future.

Yep, I did a couple trails bone stock in the GW forest just fine. You could probably also do some of the basic trails at Rausch also.

****ing awesome. I think I might do this! I've been reading up about recovery techniques online but their is no replacement from learning first hand from the pros. Any other takers? :hatsoff: for finding this.
 
I have done the OEX workshops at the Asheville and Vermont Overland Rallies. I can't recommend this training enough. I would do this class but have a prior commitment.

Nice, I'll give them a call this week. Anyone else interested? Probably the best $150 bucks you can spend on your 4runner.
 
Unfortunately I won't be able to make this one. I'm picking up another RTT next Saturday in TN. I did see an overland expert Tacoma today when I was in Middleburg picking up my winch.

Nice! Now lets just pray for an act of God for my wife to let me get your old RTT. lol. Let me know when you want to install that winch.

I should be able to do the 19th. Dont set it in stone, but it should work out. Did you get the lights too?

Opps I just saw where you will be in TN getting your tent that saturday. Hmm... Maybe the first weekend in Dec?
 
Im picking up the tent up this saturday. No lights yet. If I decide to buy some it'd probably be easier to install both at the same time. Do you have any #2 gauge wire? I want put the solenoid in the engine compartment instead of the bumper.

I dont think I have any but its easy enough to get. I think the biggest I have is 4.

I really want to go wheeling again, but this month is quickly disappearing . When is everyone free?
