Its six billion degrees here and I don't worry about the power steering....Transmission maybe....but never the power steering.

Spend the cash on an transmission cooler instead if you have not done so already.

Trucool 4589 with bypass so I think I'm covered there.:biggrin1:

Not needed in my opinion. Just change fluid like you should and shouldn't have any issues with fluid overheating.

I recently flushed my PS fluid so I think I'm good, but what about those on this forum running huge tires, armor, etc. Would heat still not be an issue? No benefit in the $20 "insurance"?

Only time it could possibly be an issue is lots of movement at slow speeds and even then it would take quite a bit to overheat it. Just not worth the added risk of blowing a line off or another source for a leak. Besides, I doubt that little cooler could draw off enough heat in a slow speed situation to matter.

I'm tempted to come up with a slow moving course that involves a bunch of sharp turns in short intervals for an extended time on a hot day, then record the temperature of the fluid in the reservoir.

Then, add this cheap little cooler, run the same course, and record the temperature.

Because science.
