Anyone else running metal tech's bumper?

If so, just wondering how you did with fitment. I'm still having trouble getting mine to line up correctly. However, it did turn out that I was the first one outside of metal tech's shop to install it. Kind of tough to do before they even created an installation guide (this installation was far different than any bumper I've installed before).... Here's the only picture I have at the moment:

I'm sorry, all I can see in that photo is an awesome 60 series. Was there a 4Runner somewhere?

Looks realky good in this pix. This bumper is growing on me but I wish there was an aluminum version as the steel is a bit more then my intended use. I prefer this look over the the pelfrey.

To be honest, this style wasn't my cup of tea at all. I was in the right place at the right time for a good deal so I settled on it. After installing, I honestly don't think there is a better 14+ 5th gen bumper that follow the difficult lines of the 14+ better than the metal tech. It's a very nice bumper.

Sorry, didn't mean to derail the thread. Your image is hard to tell where the lines are between the bumper and the body. From what I can tell though, it doesn't look too bad. Maybe different if we had some more pics.

They used mine for the prototype fitment and I got a raw one a couple weeks before the 4th of July. I installed mine the weekend of the 4th of July and I had to slot the mounting holes on the main bracket/winch carrier to get it to line up side to side. I took it up to them for them to check out and they took a few measurements afterward. Also I pointed out to them that there was no instructions what so ever and they weren't aware of it at the time. I really like the looks of the bumper but I do get a rattle from the right side wing where it flexes when going over bumps and hits the bottom of the fender.

good luck getting one. I'm going on 23+ weeks waiting on them for my single swing out rear for which I was quoted 14-16 weeks. It's gotten to the point where I've threatened contesting the credit card charge because they have completely ignored every request for an updated timeline

@OP the Metaltech bumper looks great! definitely one of the cleaner integrations of the 14+ front end, I just wish they had done something different than the light bar cut out

Thanks for the info. When I talked to them on the phone they couldn't find instructions either. It was kind of a back and forth mess. I don't really like the 'line it up and drill a hole' method they use and only recommend it if you have 2 friends that can hold it in place perfectly for you and don't move it while you get your holes perfectly aligned to drill. Mine looks to have a pretty similar gap out by the fenders as you. I would like the gap to be smaller but understand the bumper still needs to flex.

There's a bit of a gap across the entire top. Gap could be closed a bit but it's all good imo.

I like the looks of the MT bumper. It fits the lines of the truck really well in my opinion and it exposes a ton of the front of the tire. Only drawbacks as I see it are the lack of a center/headlight hoop and the non-optional light bar cut out.

Yeah I really like it too, but agree that center and headlight hoops would be a cool option. Just seems that if I'm going to add a metal bumper upfront I would want as much protection against animal strikes as possible. But I still really like it and may go that route someday.

But to the OP and others running it I think it looks great! Also congrats to MetalTech for designing an awesome looking bumper.

I concur with your interests with full protection up front being it hoops. I was very close to pulling the trigger on a Demello full hoop'd bumper but the sleeker cut-free MT was applicable for my usecase. I destroyed my front oem bumper crawling. This will give me the approach and can take the beating for what I'm doing.

The front led bar can be covered with an optional cover plate.

Install my MT bumper last night. Nice looking bumper and nice these were in stock and local in Oregon. Met Mark and his helpful crew, tho I still have gaps on both sides of the headlights couldn't get my winch mount move side to side. Gonna leave it as is til I find some time and meet them again maybe they can help me align it. I have these two squarish donut plates idk what these are for. And was left with two bigger nut and bolts any info would help thx

Remember that the body and frame flex independently. So how you're parked, and the surface it's on makes a huge difference, even on my Pelfreybilt setup (very similar to how the Metaltech ended up looking like), and if you're on any surface remotely un-even the gaps may be symmetrical.

Just be aware you may find that if you find another surface you'll have a gap on the other side. It can be a bit maddening but try it on some different flatter surfaces and check.

They're pretty much the same. But I can tell you if one tire is lower pressure than the other, if the ground isn't completely level, you'll get more shift because the frame isn't exactly lined up to the body. It happens even on ARB bumpers, Shrockworks, Pelfrey, etc.
