Anyone familiar with procedure for replacing this?

These trim pieces have some strange discoloration on both sides so I figured I'd just replace them if it's reasonable. I believe I found the correct part(s) for around $35 each. Does anyone know what's involved in replacing them? To clarify - it's the 2 side by side vertical, textured, pieces in the middle of the picture. The "b" pillar exterior trim parts.



I'm hoping it's not double stick tape but it's the most likely method. Thanks for any advice.

Neg, I tried. Something got on them and it isn't coming off. Those are the better condition one, the driver side is 10x worse.

the only good way to clean is clay bar. might as well clay the whole truck to get a deep clean on the surface.

It looks like someone hit it with some sort of high alkaline cleaner or something. No clay bar is going to remove that.

Have you considered plasti-dipping it? Mask it off, clean it with isopropyl alcohol, and spray some plasti-dip on it. Done!

It's $70 per side, $140 total. It's not cheap for what it is... You would pay at least another $100 for installation at any dealer. Good luck to the OP. I would go to a junk yard and try to find these trim pieces. In some places you show up with your own tools, take out the stuff from the cars and pay at the register. By taking the off you can figure out how to replace them on your car...

Yeah, there's no hope for the ones on there. I dipped my bumper and wasn't happy with the results long term. For $35x4 I'm happy to do it myself. Hopefully someone will know what's involved

No problem. Looks like it would need a light touch and slow go to ensure you didn't break anything.
