im thinking of ordering the OME leaf springs in the next day or 2 & wondering how it will look with 31x10.5x15 tires.... Anyone have pics of theres with 31 x 10.5 tires. (no plans to go up to 33's)
I had my springs arked. Then my Dad recently gave me his boat & when I towed it home, it made the rear springs sag again. so Im thinking something better is needed. still not sure weather I need the medium or heavy.......
I will have a full DOM internal cage.... & smitybilt bumpers (for now)
any thoughts or recomendations?

OH & this for leveling the front end? 85 98 Toyota IFS Pickup 4Runner 2 5" Front Leveling Lift Kit Diff Drop 4WD 4x4 | eBay
Dont want to just crank the torsion bars all the way up.

any thoughts or recomendations? IE: heavy duty or light duty? best/cheapest place to buy, etc.

Shitty pics, but here's before and after OME on my '85. I think those are 30s on there.

The heavy duty is just a medium duty spring with an add-a-leaf, so order the medium duty and then if you need to you can order the add-a-leaf later. The ball joint spacer will come close to leveling with the OME rears, but I wouldn't trust that EBay crap and you don't need the diff drop anyway. Order from 4Crawler or SDORI would be my suggestion.

OK, So I got the rear springs... (came slightly damaged :mmph:, since ARB doesnt wrap them & fedX beat the hell out of them. Hoping they will send me the parts.)

Next question is: what size ball joint spacer for the front? I want it to be level. (or really close) I see they have 1.5" & 2.5" (+ the diff/sway bar drop if needed)
Thinking i may do a small diff drop, as I want the most life out of my parts. just have to see what, if anything will work with the Downy brace I have installed.

ARB doesn't recommend the spacers.... Rather they say to get there Torsion bars & crank them up... But Im Not sure thats the best way to get a good ride. had torsions cranked on an 89 PU & it rode like crap Same on a 77 Chevy Luv. + it narrowed the front track width.

This is OME rear with Marlin Crawler 1.5" BJ spacers on the front. BJ spacers are your best bet for lift your stock IFS. Diff drops are a waste of time imo

No they don't, they have 1.5". Anybody advertising a 2.5" spacer is lying. Read the fine print and you'll see it's a 1.5" spacer and instructions to crank the torsion bars.

also, i don't have ball joint spacers. and i don't think you want them if you plan to actually load the rear with gear. you'll just end up with the rear end sagging. i don't even have rear seats in and i'm close to level with gear in it. i have bought heavy and pulled a left....so medium duty.

Here's mine with OME 2" mediums and 33/10.5s. Lifted it 5" initially and seems to be settling.

Any input from those that run ONLY the full OME kit with no BJ spacer? I dont like the "trimming" required for spacers and would like to just use the torsion bars to adjust the front. Reading every thread related gives you everything from it will jolt your teeth out to "rides like a truck should" to " the only way is SAS" and so on....

It looks great - wouldn't you rather have the rear higher than the front than the other way around?

You can adjust your torsion bars to raise or lower the front now thats the BJS are installed. Without torsion adjustment they gave you 1.5" of lift, but if you added load to the bars you cna easily bring that to 2". Anything above that will cause you to replace lower ball joints even faster.

Dont mean to hijack thread but its related. Does anyone have measurments with OME rear springs? Im looking for rim to fender on the rear.

i just picked up a first gen. the rear end is sagging a significant amount. can someone inform me on the best way to fix this? what parts do i need?

Any help regarding rear fender to rim measurement would be greatly appreciated. I am really trying to figure out how to proceed but want a dimension before ordering the OME kit.

Thank you

I have an OME lift on my 87 with 31X10.5X15 tires and stock 15X6 rims. What exact measurement do you want? I'll measure mine for you.
