Anyone here going to FJ Summit this week?

I only had the cabin til Friday and I was out on the Alpine loop trails before I read this when I got back. We only came down for Lunch at O'Briens!

Everybody should have a get together next year down here in Ouray.I know I will......Talk about breath taking!

lol..... I just want to get everybody to plan ahead and go! See what kind of a 4Runner turn out we can can get.I have to give it to them....... The FJ guys really have their shat together in planning. Like I said earlier, I counted 8 5th Gens in Ouray when I was there and 3 of them I talked to never even heard of this forum.
It's really pretty cheap there, especially compared to back east prices. I rented a great log cabin that sleeps 10 five miles back in the woods for only $140 a night. Even had Dish TV and high speed internet.My daughters are spoiled and don't do " camping out"

My new wheels are the Konig Countersteer X's. Lightest 17 inch wheels made, that I could find ,that fit our 5th Gens .They weigh only 20lbs 2 oz each and help offset my heavy azz KM2's.

Looks like you have a stock 4R. How did it do? I'd love to go, but worried my stocker couldn't handle it. Maybe I'm underestimating my truck......or I've been looking at too many lifted ones.

BTW, do you regret selling your LX?

yea 4Runner is stock other than tires. It did great... no bottom scrapes and only used 4hi. Granted I didn't do the most difficult trails but their were some areas where I was climbing large rocks and obstacles. I went everywhere the FJ's went on our trail runs. Even spots where I thought I would hit, the 4Runner cleared it. I think it is very capable stock. I drove my friends stock FJ for one trail and I think the suspension and overall feel was more suited and felt better for climbing than the 4Runner. It just felt stronger and solid. The 4Runner felt a little lighter and looser suspension if that makes sense.

I do miss my LX as far as comfort, style and Landcruiser heritage. It handled awesome off road and loved how I could lift the whole body when needed. I like the 100 series body style better than the 200 and maybe eventually get a '07 LC.

That's good to know the 'runner handled everything well. My buddy took his FJ up there and tried to talk me into going. He's got a lift on his FJ w/ 34s and I just didn't know what it would be like for my stock "dad car". It's cool they have trails for every level.

I almost bought a used LC100 instead of my 4runner. I still wonder if I made the right choice. I felt better about it when gas was nearly $5/ gallon.

I live in Denver and went to a Rockies game about a month ago and as soon as I walked into the stadium that truck was staring me in the face! Not sure why it was on display (too busy staring at the truck), but they had a booth out front and a few people dressed up to show it off (prolly a toyota demo truck showing how cool they can look?).

I've been meaning to post on here and ask if anyone has experience with the rack on it? It's from defenderrack.com... I really liked how it looked and seemed to integrated with the stock 4runner rails nicely. I will start another thread cuz I know this is OT.

Not sure who's 5th this is, but super dirty like mine, the way they should be.

I would love to attend next year. Heck, if anyone wants to make an impromptu run up there sometime in the next 6 weeks or so (before the snow?) I would love to go.

If anyone wants to make an effort to have a 5th gen get together there (next year?), I'm a little ways away in Texas, but will help with planning as best as I can.

And Harper7-- I'm GREEN with jealousy of the view. Amazing.
