seems like there are alot of people from ohio, which is nice to here, used to go to wellsville years back in my 85 yota, havent been in a long time, think it might be in the cards as a trip for me this year.
Somewhat new to the Cincinnati area, been in the Texas/New Mexico/Arizona area my whole life. Would be fun to do some easy trails with my nearly stock 4runner and meet some people around the area.
Between you guys in Ohio and Kentucky, and the few of us that are in Indianapolis, we should try to plan something. There are a couple off-road parks between Indy and Cincy, along with campgrounds and stuff. Haspin Acres | Off-Road & Motocross Park in Laurel, Indiana
Anyone want to help me try and set up a meet in a month or so, before the weather gets ridiculous?
First, I agree that a trip would would be awesome and would likely join in...
Second, don't be to pissed about Ohio. There's good stuff, but it just looks a lot different than Moab and Colorado since it's way more muddy and green. Here's some Ohio based clubs that I'm familiar with.... Mostly the Ohio 4x4 one but I do know a bit about the other two.
Ohio 4x4 TrailRiders Forums
I'm in the Ohio 4x4 Trail Rider club that has a ride second Saturday of each month. The April ride is a near Tar Hollow State Forest and is meant for novices. If you are mostly stock then this would be good. If you have some goodies like lift, lockers, armor, tires, then this would be underwhelming. The group is mostly jeeps, Samis, and domestics but there's a few Yotas. The folks in the group wheel hard but never leave you on the trail. If you are interested in the novice ride pm me for more details. Most Ohio rides are abandoned township roads in the boonies. Family friendly rides.

Another clubs is the Stillwell stompers. I've not gone with them but they do a joint ride with Ohio 4x4 each year. They have rights to private land.
Greenovalguild.com - Central Ohio Land Rover Club
Green oval guild is a central Ohio Land Rover club. Seem to be some good guys, but I've only met one or two of them. They do welcome non-LR vehicles and are family friendly.
I'm game for a trailride! Since this is my DD I'm not looking to cave in any panels just yet but do enjoy riding around in the woods, meeting good people and maybe doing some grilling!
I'm in SE Columbus near Ricart btw... but I come from the land of strip pits in NE Ohio.
I'll see sometime next week about setting something up. Good thing about Haspin Acres is multiple trails for different levels, camping included, cheap, and it's 1-1.5 hrs for for most people. I'll start a thread and see who all is interested.
I heard about you 3rd gen guys talkin about a meetup. I'm up in NE ohio by akron. There's not very many good wheeling spots in ohio really. Yankee is for pure mud trucks (ones you can beat the piss out of and not care). I just go up there and ride in my friend's trucks. I've never been to wellsville before, bu I've heard good things about it. I really wanna go wheeling somewhere nice this summer.
Just purchased a '14 white T4R Trail Premium and waiting for it to be delivered. Active member on TacomaWorld.com and just traded in my '06 Taco after 8 years. Been in OH about a year now. Moved up from TX and now stationed at Wright-Patterson AFB. Looking forward to meeting the community in OH and discussing on T4R.com!
Hey guys. I'm from Cincinnati as well. Glad to see there are some others on here! I just bought an '09 Trail, looking for somewhere around here to test it out. So far I've heard Haspin is pretty good. Any other places?
Hey everyone. I know we've had questions come up regarding custom shops in the NKY area who offer aftermarket parts and can help out with an off-road build. I found a guy who owns a shop in Wilder, KY (right next to Newport and about 10 minutes from Cincy) that gets business from local CORE guys, PDs, and city/county agencies for various trucks and cars. He's currently helping me with some mods for my 4Runner and I'm impressed with the other work I've seen come through his shop. His name is John and the company is Outlaw Upfitting.
