Anyone know the name of this material?

For those who have the rear cargo sliding tray.... there made out of this composite stuff ( see image) which I would love to know the name of. If anyone here has an idea of it could be called or is called, that would be most helpful. Thanks!

I thought that initially as well but i'm thinking its something else. Looking at the second image I have attached here it looks to be more of a fiberglass material. Though on the top and inside it seems to be some form of polystyrene....?

It's actually some sort of foam core...with a fiberglass resin top and bottom. Its also used in panels of high end off road European campers.

Very light weight...very strong.

"Skunkworks" I like that! Well welcome for Skunkworks INC, today we are hunting down a material that is extremely strong yet very light in weight. We seemed to have found a potential possibility. The purpose for this material will be to create some custom cabinetry for rear storage in me 4runner.

I have decided that this project will be dedicated to the fond memory of Seattle Mike as most of my inspiration for this build has come from his custom rear storage build.

Thanks, I will be taking you up on that! Its going to be a great, fun little project. I'm making the frame this week... I think I'll start a thread on my build site. Though to date I have thousands of images of write-ups I have never done. Lazy I know!
