IIRC, these two parts are everything you need for weatherstripping around the rear lift gate window, inside and out.

I took a quick look on partznet, and found the diagram in the link below. It appears there may be an interior piece, no. 4.

leaking weather stripping

so my rear weather stripping has deterioated..leaking water into the rear panel and messing up my dashcam.
who can advice on a solution...the issues posted here are a lil different from mine

Stopped by the dealership parts counter on Friday to check out both assemblies, and as stated above those little plastic caps come with the 68290-35031 part. The parts guy tried to charge me $32, but I got him to let it go for $25 (really only a $15 part).

Installation was cake (also mentioned above).

Hasn't happened to me, but for $25, I might just replace mine to avoid issues. Anyway, the part you mention is for the OUTSIDE strip, not the INSIDE one. I believe the inside one is the one that has failed on you. According to your picture, the outside seal looks fines. The inside seal looks bent. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

yeah, its the inside strip....none of the others has the same issue, i am wondering if the outside strip comes packaged with the inside strip.

The inner and outer weatherstripping/belt are sold separately.

The part number for the inner weatherstrip is 68291-35020, if you do a search you may find it a little cheaper elsewhere than the price linked below, check on eBay.

Just an FYI for you and others, the exterior weatherstripping/belt at a glance looks to be designed to keep water from entering the rear hatch, but that's not the case, while most water during a rain or washing your vehicle will not get past the belt if it's in good condition some water will still get into the hatch as well as all the doors on any vehicle, the rear hatch as well as the doors have drain/weep holes in the bottom to allow water that gets past the belt to drain out, if you are retaining a lot of water in the hatch or doors your drains are clogged, when you open the hatch look for the 2 little plastic inserts in the drain holes on either side of the lock/latch, the plastic insert are designed to keep bugs from getting into the hatch/doors from the outside but allow water to drain out if not clogged.

The design of the belt is such that it keeps most of the water out, it's also design as a "window cleaner/squeegee", when in good condition it will remove fog and water droplets from the outside of the glass when you open and close the window, and the inside strip does the same for the inside of the glass, these strips are also seal the glass from wind/air penetration.

Thanks to everyone for the great info. I was able to finally replace the ones on the doors. For the life gate I had only ordered the bottom piece, but now I'm going to just replace the whole thing because it's going to look odd if I only do the bottom since the run channel is so faded.

How hard is it to replace the door weatherstrip assemblies? I'm going to do the lift-gate weatherstrip assembly tomorrow. Thanks.
