Anyone put a lexus steering wheel in their 3rd gen?

Ok, so I get that the airbags would be different, but could you replace just the rim of the wheel with something like this:


The wood wouldn't wear at all and it seems like the airbags are a similar size.

Someone tell me why this wouldn't work.

Splines are the same but cruise control stalk is different but can be adapted with ease.

rickashy put one from an IS300 into his FZJ80. I'm thinking about doing the same one in my 4Runner as mine is really worn. He said that the spline count is the same, but the cruise would have to be rewired as stated above.

That's just the 4th gen wheel with a Lexus logo. You should do a 4th gen wheel on yours, with a write-up:trophy:
