It'll be tomorrow but I'll get you several pics. I went with vinyl from the rear seats forward and bed lined the cargo area.
Anyone roll carpetless?

VERY interested in seeing this as I am contemplating the same setup. What type of bedliner did you use? Post up as many pics as you can!

Obviously, I haven't installed the roll bar, rear seats, passenger seat, and a couple side panels yet but you get the idea. I used Raptor bed liner and HIGHLY recommend it. I tried an idea I had to get a little more bumpy texture and I like how it turned out. You can do it alot more fine than what mine is. I only used 2 bottles of the 4 that came in the kit. Allowed for 3 coats and I have enough left to do the bed of my 02 Tacoma double cab now. Anyways, here are the pics. Vinyl could use a little cleaning.
Thanks for the pics, looks great! My 88 is the same color as yours, would love to see some pics of the outside of the truck as well. Mine needs paint.
The liner looks great but I think I may have to do something with a roll-on application. I ordered the vinyl kit from JC Whitney today. $128 for the passenger compartment, not bad.
Any tips to share for the installation of the vinyl? What if anything did you put underneath it?

The 95 I just bought seems to have had a spray on liner in the cargo space, it's a real mess. Any ideas on reconditioning it? I like the no carpet look back there for sure
I think I may order "monstaliner". Their website seems very thorough and they are active on Toyota forums which is a big plus for me. The surface seems more like textured plastic than gritty sandpaper which is also good.
Stuff isn't cheap but the kit seems very comprehensive and I haven't seen any negative feedback. Not sure if I want to do the whole inside of the truck and put my vinyl over the top of it in the passenger area or just do the cargo area. Anyway, I'll report on my findings if I end up using it.

I have the rubbery vinyl that was stock for the truck. But I have nada in cargo area. Lots of noise.... thought about a precut carpet through stock interiors and get the padding...

Put this on my build/questions thread but it seems relevant here too. I took the plunge a couple days ago and ripped out the disgusting house carpet the previous owner(s) put in.
Felt good when I was doing it but had a definite "oh shit" moment seeing a completely bare interior. Discovered some surface rust under there as well. Judging by all the water stains on the carpet it looks like things got very wet at some point and the carpet soaked it all up like a sponge. This resulted in some bubbly surface rust.
I'm currently wire wheeling the rust spots and re-painting with some self etching primer and some underbody paint. Then I'm going to attempt the peal n' seal insulation method chuckles used.
My biggest fear comes after that. Since the carpet I ripped out is not even close to factory, it's pretty much useless as a template. There's no way I will be able to trim and drill holes neatly! I'll attempt it but I may have to turn to a professional to clean up my mess!

SVdude liked how I used Herculiner around the bottom of my F150 a few years back and went with Monstaliner for the same on his runner as well as the inside. It leaves a bit of a texture (all dependent on # of coats) and cleans easily.
I've been running the floor of my 86 bare for over two years. Loud? Sure. Room on the dial to up the volume? Definitely. An air chisel makes super short work on the damening material too.
Unless you really need to keep somewhat of an interior for noise/comfort, the heat and noise aren't that bad. It's a snap to rinse out after a weekend on dusty/muddy trails!

I will have to check that out. The carpet in the 4Runner is pretty grody, and the carpet in my 67 Chevy is non existant. Back in the day when I had a cammed out 350 in it, it was louder than loud, and now with the 383 stroker going in, it's going to be even worse. Thank you for the tip!
