Anyone running 34" or larger with high caster? Bumper clearance issues.

Hey guys,

Running into some stock bumper clearance issues with my 34x10.5x17. I pushed out caster to 2 degrees and now I'm catching the back of the bumper edge. It's already been trimmed since it's a TRD model but I'm hesitant to trim it any further since doing so will result in needing to cut past a mounting bolt space. Doesn't look like I can relocate the bolt anywhere either. I'm running 2.5" of lift and factory UCAs.

Looks like I can possibly clear if I raise the front more but I don't really want to. I think 2010-2013 has a different bumper so it may only affect 2014+ Trail/SR5/TRD.

If I dial back the caster I eliminate the rubbing, but at the risk of decreased highway stability. Anyone else having this problem? Not sure if this is because I'm running the OEM UCAs but I can easily get 0-2 degrees of caster. This is only happening while at 2 degrees.

Here's some pictures to better illustrate where I'm rubbing

I think he (or another member) moderately wheeled it with these tires and managed to stuff them in the wheel wells pretty good with no rubbing, but maybe it was just the rear. I can't really remember. Either way, the tires or BFGs, so they likely are only a 33" or 33.5" as all BFGs run small.

edit. it was @cf_cooder and he has a Toytec Boss lift. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-g...ain-t-ko2-went-sale-today-31.html#post2109870

he also mentions that BFG listes their height as 33.5 on their website and he's getting just past 33, mounted. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-g...h-total-terrain-ko-2-sadness.html#post2107406

Start cutting. You're going to have lots more cutting if you ever plan to wheel it

Agreed. I was wondering if anyone has run into these issues before, as the bumpers are already cut and if I cut any further I will need to cut past the bolt hole, unless I can find another create way to get around this. They already rub about 1/4" or so in full lock, likely will turn into 1-2" if I stuff them while wheeling.

It is related to stock UCAs.

Can you take a picture from further back. I thought the new models had more fender clearance.

I have one of those tires as a spare... It is about 33.5" maybe a tad more on a 7" rim.

Aftermarket UCAs will solve some of the rub. They dial in more caster by moving the upper BJ back. So with the LCAs in the same position as they are now, you will gain about +2* caster depending on which UCAs you go with.
