A lot has to do with coolant maintenance. I've been running Toyota red in mine at 40k changes since new. I'm at 12 years and 137k and I don't see it worth a preventive swap (I have a manual, so no milkshake worries). My '66 Farmall tractor is on the original rad, and my '74 Mercedes died after 30 years with the original rad still good.
Where do you get your Toyota red coolant?
