Anyone try JBA A-Arms?

just an update i installed these today. much easier job than i anticipated. will have alignment done tomorrow morning and let you know how it comes out..

im on sway a way rear coils and leveled with coilovers in the front

I installed a set of these about a month ago. I bought the heavy duty versions. So far I like them a lot. Truth is, I'm not exactly Ivan Stewart so I wouldn't be able to tell from daily driving if they are better or worse than say a set of Icons. I liked the fact that they have easily replaceable ball joints. They don't squeek like the other styles do and they look cool, imo anyway. They solved the camber problem and were stupid easy to install. Lots of choices out there in UCA's, I'm happy with this choice. Ymmv though.

Where did you find the 4runner ones?

Looked around, and I don't know if I would feel comfortable with an A-arm made for Tacoma (05+), FJ's(07+), and 4runners (03+).

Seems way too generic.

got my alignment done and everything is within factory spec but my toe is a little concerning

previous numbers

camber L 0.1 R 0.3
caster L 0.4 R 1.1
toe L .04 R .05

current alignment

camber L 0.1 R 0.1 spec -0.8 0.7
caster L 3.1 R 2.8 2.5 4.0
toe L .08 R .13 0.01 0.16

although it is within spec will i see tire wear having that much toe. spec range is .01-.16 and im at the high end of that. im blaming this on lazy alignment tech but i did see a good improvement with caster numbers from the control arms which is what i was after

As I am looking into purchasing front/rear springs to go with the 5100's I have installed I am pretty confident I will go with either the JBA or HD JBA. Something about the gusseting makes me happy after seeing SPC weld failures at those locations (although I have heard it's been resolved and I know JBA is a different company all together...)

those that have installed the JBAs seem pleased thus far. NZDZRT being one i have followed since he has seems to have had them installed longer than others and has been pretty vocal about liking their performance.

RoverGS the one person who I have read that has installed the HD version, can you post some pics yo?!? the site reads for use on 3/4 ton trucks, but again the beefier tubing and gusseting is intriguing.

I am still very happy!

I've had no issues. I will be lifting my front a bit more soon, about another half inch using the coilover adjustment. It will be a net half inch, as I am adding steel skids, SSO bumper insert / winch and C4 sliders. So, I will drop some and lift it back up. Point being, another alignment is in the cards. Lifetime at Firestone...

nice, look forward to seeing that come together

I'm still quite happy with the HD JBA UCA's. It still drives great with the Cooper ST/Maxx's. Alignment is still spot on. I like that shooting grease in them is easy. I would highly recommend these. I went with th HD version which may have been overkill, but I like the added strength factor.

I too like the added 11ga gussets and larger tubing of the HD version, although i believe the standards would probably work just fine.
reading their site their wall thickness difference is 1/32" (3/16" vs 5/32") and larger in diameter by 5/16" (1-5/16" vs 1")

Any chance i could talk you into taking a pic of the underside of the BJ?
I'm reading on tacomaworld that there is a metal spacer of some sort that some people paint to keep from rusting? (think i see the spacer in your pic)
Is there a rubber boot like other BJs?
Also looking to see how grease is reapplied.

I have about 7k miles on mine and have had zero issues with them, and I am not mall crawling. Replaced my spacers with a OME 3" and all is good so far.

It's been a while for most of you who went with JBA UCAs so I'm asking the question again, how are they holding up?

I know one person posted his alignment specs, so I'm just wondering what other people are getting. I saw his Caster was around 3.

Trying to do some homework before I purchase and these seem like a great product.

:help:

Mine are doing great, no issues at all. I'll be taking mine in for a alignment in a couple weeks and will post the results.

Lightenup_bro I haven't had them on for very long but as for alignment I got 4.0 caster with the other numbers in line. More stable and easier driving at hwy speeds than the stock UCA at 1.75" lift. Happy customer so far

Thanks I was wondering if anyone was able to get the 4 sweet spot and keep everything else in line. I really like these A Arms. Is there a specific reason you went with the HDs (I believe that's what you have based on the picture)?

not really, other than i thought larger diameter tubing and gusseting looked cool. I'm sure the standard option would have worked just as well.

JBA UCAs

I used them on my 2006 Jeep Liberty CRD. They're a great product and JBA was really good about answering question pre and post sale. I didn't need any support on them and didn't manage to wear out the ball joints.
