I'm not even home ..I've been working in garden grove for the last couple weeks and just home on the weekends which last weekend I loaded up all my wheeling/camping gear in my rig already so I could just head out from here ..which one you want the canvas or sun shade material

No programming needed (other than punching in the station). The stock antenna is garbage, but you'll be able to hear the guys within a mile or so of you.
You'd only need to program it to use repeaters, which is a good idea of you need emergency help, but then it's also good to have a license so you don't get a huge fine. If it's a case of loss of life or property you don't need a license.
The little handhelds don't really broadcast that far.

I grew up riding dirt bikes out there and now recently over the last few years started going offroading on the Truckhaven side mostly. Been pretty much everywhere in Truckhaven and been all over the place in Ocotillo area as well but not a lot over the recent years. Have you see the BBQ that is cemented in at the top of one of the hills just southeast of the phone booth? If so, me and my family put that in a couple years ago. I welded “Burns BBQ New Years 2016” on the back.

Also I think the people meeting up Saturday Morning should meet at our camp instead of the Ranger Station so they could join in this route it will be a goodtime

I'm interested in going. Stock '15 Trail. I have very limited off roading experience. Taking the wife and 2 boys 7 and 11. Planning on getting there Friday afternoon/early evening. Most likely will meet the group at the camp site. Staying the night and for the saturday morning runs. Wondering if this run would be ok or should we sit this out. Not sure how technical the trails are going to be. Please advise.
