Same. I've had a couple random small runs, but haven't had a full blown t4r one in awhile. Haven't been camping since death valley for Thanksgiving. I'm itching.

I would have been headed somewhere in Borrego in Jan either way. The weather's perfect for like 2-3 months and then it's a crapshoot. Gotta get it while the gettin's good!
I went to AZ to camp a couple weeks after the July run, but we were in my buddy's company car (free gas $$ the whole trip). We had a couple creek crossings and it really makes you appreciate the ground clearance in the 4Runner!!
I don't ask to borrow my balls for the weekend, I know where "the warden" keeps the key to the safe :flipoff:

That's exactly it, you go alone and shenanigans are more likely to happen! You're limited to where you can go comfortably because you know there's that small possibility you might be walking back to a main road to flag someone down. I'd hate to be halfway down fish creek coming from Diablo dropoff and have the shit hit the fan while wheelin' alone.

i'm actually heading out there tomorrow and through the weekend. funnily enough, i think i worked out the same routes you guys have planned for january.

Supposed to rain harder today than tomorrow I think so just be aware of your surroundings and pay attention to where you're camping. Even if it's not raining on you, that sudden downpour 2 miles away could flood the wash you're sleeping in.

Search and rescue won't do any good if you drowned in your car somewhere. Be careful if there's any sign of rain within 20 miles of your location stay out of the washes.

It's been raining out here all afternoon , not a heavy rain just consistent drizzle. I live right on the edge of an actual flood plain and it floods like no tomorrow from the smallest amount of rain like a river and it comes from white water...
But as of right now there's no issue or any signs of flooding. If i do I will tell you and would say don't go

Anyone with cans should bring them as a just in case scenario. From the meet spot and all day until next opportunity to fuel up will be roughly 100 miles+/-. So factor that into how much fuel you will use to get to the meet up spot.
Last year myself and a fellow member took a similar route( more dirt than pavement though) and he got to the gas station on fumes
