Sounds awesome. I actually picked up a microfiber liner for my sleeping bag. No way am i going to be freezing like I did in death valley. Hahah.

I have a 30 degree bag, but trust me, I was still freezing in death valley with multiple layers on and I think it only got below 40 one night we were there. I sleep in a six man tent on a cot so there's lots of air space and not much heat retention. I had to up my cold weather game and anza should be a good test.

This trip won't be a very good test but still good to familiarize yourself with any new gear in normal conditions. I'll be in my truck with some underwear on and the windows wide open lol

Hahha. I'm not a big fan of being cold. My biggest issue with my setup has been cold air coming up under the cot, especially in windy conditions. So I'm hoping the liner will let me sleep comfortably in 1 layer instead of 5.

I'll take a cot over waking up on a deflated air mattress any day. I've looked at pads, and I'll probably go that route eventually when my son stops moving all over the tent and I can down size. The cot keeps him stationary all night and keeps his elbows and knees out of my back and face. I actually really like sleeping on a cot. Far more comfortable than the ground or an air mattress.

Putting 25 trucks in Fish Creek for camping is going to be interesting. There are plenty of large sections with room but most of it is pretty exposed to the wind if there is any. I guess that's to be expected it in the desert. I've only camping in Anzo once before and that was over near the two water towers and the border check on the south east side.

Air mattress are the worst things to use if trying to stay warm ...the air inside becomes the same temp as the air outside cause the cold ground cools the air inside putting that right against you, no bueno..this a fact.
But deflating the mattress and just using it as a liner underneath you is a good idea cause it becomes a barrier between you and the cold ground.

You would have to have the google app, google drive, and google maps or google mymaps app all linked together show they share the same info, files, photos, browsing history etc etc... go to your main settings in google to link all of them together
I use google MyMaps to create these maps and then save to offline. This allows me then to be able to open it in google maps as well. You can also embed it if you want as well.

Fish creek is most definitely tight in a few slot canyons but the main wash is plenty wide....exposed to the wind not so much. We will be camping just at the entrance on the north end, may be a little windy but manageable in this spot. Over by the border checkpoint is probably the most exposed you can get as far the wind is concerned.
We will most likely break off into smaller groups in fish creek and rendezvous a few hours later...well that's the plan anyways haha
