Well, I contributed one unit to whatever the total is for May. Yippee! The sales numbers are looking strong.
 
Well that was quick...May's numbers posted. Also went back and reformatted to include monthly breakout for 2011 and 2010 as found in a different source.

The whole goal was to make the 4th gen guys be quiet about numbers lol. Now they should be suitably chastised as the ugly big 5th gen has out performed their best year.

I ran the numbers just to see what might be possible. I'm sure someone in Plano, Tx has better projections but if we hold the course we are on track to surpass 2004 numbers.

I bought one in May as well. It's an awesome vehicle. My son is excited about getting my '07 next year.
 
I would like to see these sales number compared to jeep JKU wrangler sales trends. They also seem to also be selling at a very rapid pace with the low gas prices. They are everywhere I look. And I must admit, the platform is pretty darn good for an off-road oriented toy. A little too cookie cutter for me, but hard to beat the capability....
 
Looks like they are on target to hit the 100k sales mark by the end of the year, the first time in a decade. Yes, hopefully this will convince Toyota to keep the 4Runner around as it is one of the last true SUV (BOF).
 
Once upon a time, I took the 2004 - present 4Runner sales figures and combined them with the FJ Cruiser sales figures. The thing that became noticeable to me was that the FJ Cruiser did not create new volume. It stole volume from the 4Runner. And now that the FJ Cruiser is gone, the 4Runner sales are rebounding.

True. I thought about this a little while back...since the FJ is no longer available, then fans of Toyota SUVs will now have to go with the T4R.
