April 2016 saw 5 digit sales for the Toyota 4Runner for the first time

Although they did have to deal with the financial crisis in 2008 and most of the mortgage crisis as well. Not to mention $4/gallon gasoline. Which is likely most of the reason why sales took a big 'ole nosedive there in 2008-2009.

Out of curiosity, can you tell us what other types of questions Toyota is asking?
These owner surveys are often very telling of what is going on at Toyota.
This would be a great time to go back and look at all the threads around 2013 when the new 2014 was coming out and all the experts here said toyota sucks it's so ugly ! omg I would never ever buy one of those blah blah blah it was relentless ! I on the other hand was one of those that loved the restyling of the 2014 and had no doubt sales were on the upswing.

Two things I'd opt for if I purchased all over again.
1. AWD
2. Power rear lift gate.
The 2014 limited model I have is great, but I would have waited for the 2015 model to gain access to the power rear lift gate at the least. For me it is OK, but for my wife, the lift gate is a tad on the heavy side for her. She even asked if it was possible to add it. I told her yes, but would be $1600-1800 plus labor. She quickly said never mind. Lol

I just tried to access the survey again from an old email link and it said "You have already taken the survey" so I'll have to go from memory. They asked me if I had any issues with interior, exterior, and engine. And if I had any problems, how did I go about resolving whether it was ignored it, fixed it myself or took it to a dealer. Then it asked what I liked and disliked about the interior, exterior, and engine, giving specific examples. So I made it clear how I thought the 7" width wheels were awful for tire choices. I complained about the laggy bluetooth/navi system. I told them to never take away the roll down window for the tailgate. A previous survey it was a lot of emotional questions, such as how did I feel about the environment, fuel economy and how did the car make me feel. The choices for the answers felt like a personality test.

Purchased my 2016 SR5 Premium on April 26th. +1 and now has 750 miles after a nice road trip last week.

I was one of them. Said it was ugly, still say it's ugly. But the nicer interior on the TEP makes up for it since I really don't see my truck but from any vantage point but the drivers seat.

I ran the numbers just to see what might be possible. I'm sure someone in Plano, Tx has better projections but if we hold the course we are on track to surpass 2004 numbers.
June fell hard. Guess the earthquake really affected availability. 8,410 sales

The facelift was the tipping point in getting me to wanting a 4Runner. Until then I had been back and forth on a Rubicon. I have friends that have Gen 4 4Runners and I like them but my exposure to them and the early Gen 5 look had me bored (and I hated the older instrument cluster). I don't look for unrealistic options but I do expect common sense ones especially in 2016. Are there things that bother me with the current version? Sure but it isn't enough to stop me from getting one. And who could hate that face?? :wave:
