ARB Mounting Hardware

I came across a Tacoma ARB Bumper on Craigslist. I know these will fit our 4Runners, but my question is whether or not everything needed to mount it to a 4Runner is used to mount it to a Tacoma.

It's currently mounted to an 02 Tacoma so I need to know if I'll need anything in addition to the hardware it's coming with...

If it's complete you should have everything you need. You will probably have to cut the frame rails, depending on how old the bumper is and what year your truck is, but the Tacoma bumper comes with everything you need for a 4Runner.

it might be missing a couple bolts but thats trivial, i mean you are gonna be getting the bumper at a deal being used that, even spending $40 in all new hardware, youd still come out ahead. look through my build, it has it laid out, and shows you wear to cut ect. if you want more specific info feel free to PM or ask, i can basically walk you through it... i have had my bumper on and off probably a half a dozen times now, and used several different mounting options, i can tell you what you do not want to do, and what you dont need to do and what you will want and should do when installing and mounting it.

Thanks for the info guys. The seller is asking way too much for the bumper, but we'll see if I can talk him down to something reasonable.

i bought mine brand new last year for for like $750 or so i dont remember exsactly but it was over $700 and under $800. if its used it should be no more than $500 in perfect shape, and closer to $350-400, with in a year there are enough scratches and rock chips that it is no longer mint, and anyone who thinks they are gonna get new prices for something they have used is high

its not like its a "i need to replace this item" issue like with insurance or an accident, then i could see asking the other person to pay full price, but if he is selling yeah no way

This guy has it listed for $900. He's selling it with the 8,000lb Warn winch that's currently installed in it, but still...I think he's got it WAY overpriced. What's a good price for an ARB+Warn?

well consider that a brand new warn m8000 sells for around $600, used they can be as low as $2-300, all depends on how old it is... if its a year or two old its got some of the newer upgraded electronics in it, its a little bit more weather sealed, so the price could be a little more but if its 3 or more years old then yeah. also another thing on them is how much has it been used, them sitting stale for years and years isnt good either, did the person ever use it? did they spool the cable back in correctly and nicely? -typically in plate bumpers spooling in cable can be difficult to do nicely and it takes some time and some work. but it should still be done... if not this can shorten the life span of the cable.

If I can get him down to $700, sounds like I'd be getting a pretty decent deal. We'll see how it goes! Thanks for the feedback, kid. If I end up getting it I'm sure I'll be asking you lots of questions about the do's and dont's.

You can get brand new ARB for $900, so a used one should be under $600-$700 depending on condition. Thekid convinced me in getting the M8000, I got lucky picking it up next to new for $250. I was gonna get the XRC8000.

Mounting hardware is easy to get. You also use existing hardware from your recovery points. Consider reinforcing the box frame and adding another bolt. Loosen all the bolts on the bumper and make sure mounting bracket comes off clean from the Tacoma.

Make sure you check the function of the winch before making a final deal. Pull out the cable, make sure the winch is functional... all that....

So aside from being super flaky, this guy apparently didn't take kindly to me telling him I didn't think it was worth $900.

"I don't think we need to discuss any further. With the interest I've gotten so far and the prices of these items new, these items don't depreciate that much, I can probably get 1,000.00 or more. Thank you for your interest."

$1000 or more? Good luck pal. I wished him good luck with his sale and left it at that.
