Simple fix would be a longer bolt with a spacer to bridge the gap between the back-plate and the firewall. A nicer fix would be an L shaped tab that connects to the main back-plate and bridges the gap and a shorter bolt to secure it.

It could also mount to the top bolt on the compressor, then come over the top and angle down to the wheel well. That should transfer the stress to one of the Toyota provided captured nuts built into the wheel well.
I'm sure Reata will gladly charge you $1000 for your very well documented and enjoyed cardboard cutout trip. But that doesn't mean you would enjoy it as much as your cutout did.... Just saying... Price does not equal smart design or quality per se.

The wise Antman is correct. But If you guys want to get some extra support you can ask for it specifically when you order. That's the answer I got when I asked. It might up your price though.
So here is the deal:
They took the bracket out today to measure and trace what they have already made to come up with a solid price. They will call me with the final price tomorrow.
The fabricator said it is almost impossible to make one without the truck in the shop because all the angles are just really weird. They need the truck there to test fit. A template could be made, but for >10 brackets this is of course not worth it. BUT, the plan that we came up with was for them to cut all the parts for however many brackets we decide we want, then I will bring my truck in and they will test fit them all back to back to back to make sure they get all the angles right. Then they can weld them up, paint them, and ship them out.
The shop will take care of the orders, money, and shipping.
He said we need 4-5 orders to make this worth it for him, so once I get the final price tomorrow, hopefully we can get that many positive confirmations and get the show on the road for you guys.
IF ANYONE ELSE IS INTERESTED IN THIS BRACKET, GET ON THIS LIST NOW!

That analogy was just plain wierd, but-
I guess my point was----nobody has even seen the bracket except for Jango, and redesign questions are already popping up. Let's see the design before asking about "improvements".

All joking aside, you are correct about the "sight unseen" part, but in my mind that would be all the more reason to ask design questions and ask the questions that might either qualify the design or highlight structural issues before it goes into large scale production. especially if I'm going to be spending my money for a limited production, first generation product.
But it's all good.. I'm looking forward to hearing more tomorrow!

So I just moved all my stuff to a new workshop (used to be mine and my dads woodworking shop, but we upgraded), and had to run down there tonight to put some tools away because of a roof leak. I figured while I was down there I would try and get some better pictures of the bracket.
But then I thought whats better than pictures? video!
I think this wins for the worst video ever, but it was in the middle of a rainstorm and I was just trying to get some good angles. You can see the re-enforcement and 2 of the 3 mounting points. Hope this helps you guys see what you may be buying. I do have to pull it out this weekend so count on some much better pictures. But you can see here how thick the metal is, and how they made the bracket perfectly fit the curves of the truck when it was mounted.
I tried to upload it in 720P but that was going to take like 3 hours...so you are stuck with my grainy awful video. Hope you can see something!

Sorry folks.... I have been meaning to chime in here....
Here is my setup.... It has been fantastic to say the least. It's an extremely durable bracket mounted straight to the fender wheel using the pre existing 11mm thread bolts and then mounted to side fender wall using the pre-threaded 10mm holes that are there. It’s sturdy as a rock and doesn't move even if I try to make it move.
Pros as to why it’s mounted this way:
1) Utilizes space
2) Easily accessible to all plumbing/wiring/solenoids etc...
3) Leave space TO WORK ON and yes you need it. Lines with compressed air need tightening over time. Period!
I have tried over 5 different sources to get these made for you fellow 5th gen'ers and had no luck. It's actually quite a time consuming process as the bracket fits to the contour of the wheel well. Therefore it takes time and time is money.

I didn't get a call today. I'll try to call tomorrow.
I pulled my compressor this afternoon to leak test (my compressor was coming on for about 1 second every minute to recharge the system so I knew something was off). I Teflon taped all the connections and still had a leak. I eventually found out that my air locker manifold had a leak along the bottom seam. I emailed ARB tech support and will hopefully get a new one sent out soon.
Anyway. I snapped more pictures of the bracket with it out. (it's still out by the way, so if anyone has any pic requests let me know)

Looking good Jangoforhire. I like the 2 feet (previously I though it had 1). The cross bars on the back are reassuring as well. I still wouldn't mind tying into the firewall. Did you happen to take a look as you took it out how it's positioned in relation to one of the threaded holes in the firewall or the threaded studs?
I may simply take it "as is" and add that contact point myself.

Called this morning just to make sure they didn't forget about it.
They said they are waiting to hear from their supplier to get the price for mild steel and they will come up with a quote soon. My bracket is made out of stainless because...well...just because haha. They said stainless is impractical when making a lot because the cost would be so over the top that it would almost not even be worth it. Mild steel will give the same strength and make things much cheaper for you guys.
Don't worry guys I'm trying to get this going as fast as I can.

Great pictures, I too may be interested. As I look at the mounting location on my TE, I see two connectors that may be in the way. Did you have to do anything with them to make the ARB fit, or does the mount fit over and/or around them?

You just have to disconnect the wiring harnesses from their anchor points on the wheel well and move them out of the way when the compressor goes in, thats it. I'll get a picture of the wheel well soon, mine is still taken out.

I couldn't delay my install, I had to go on without the bracket.
Slee Off-Road is doing the install today. I trust they will do a great job, we'll see what they come up with. :hungry:
