Are Black Depot Brand Headlights any good?

I saw a set of non-HID black Depot brand headlights on E-Bay and was wondering if anyone here have any experience with them. Quality good?

Some people like it, I personally think they look awful, cheap and ricey. Poor quality too

Your headlights look great, but I am interested in a black housing without taking mine apart and painting.
The Depot headlights I am talking about look exactly like factory, but with black housings instead of chrome, kind of like what I believe are called JDM headlights - hence in my first post stating NON HID. The ones in the link you are referring to are NOT what I am talking about. I want to know if anyone has had the non HID style and if water gets into them, do the outer lens dis-color, or anything negative like that.

I love mine- light output to me isn't that far from stock if not a little better once you put some silver star ultra's in like I did. Overall, I don't think they look ricey or cheap at all.

Those are what I am talking about - how long have you had them?

I've had them for about a month or so. The light output is good with some silverstar ultras- but as you can see the buzz is about the retrofit HID which I may have to do soon as well. No discoloring on the front- no haze, no condensation-- if you look em over real good when you buy them, you will see they are exactly what stock one are

Save your money and do the BHLM yourself. These lights are made in Taiwan so the quality is not there. I purchased mine from Burtman and the clear on the lens is flaking. My car is always garaged too. Anyways you get what you pay for.

Really? How is it ricey, I think it's the opposite of rice, maybe you have a different opinion of what rice is though, anyways I love my blacked out headlights, they look good on any color 4Runner! :bigok:

After reading the DIY thread, I think I may just do a factory set of headlights myself - I've tore apart things like this in the past and been lucky enough that all turned out well.

It's not as hard as it seems. Just take your time and be patient. Plus you can say that you did it yourself.
