Are the Napa MaxDrive CV Axles still the best ones to get?

Best bang for your buck 'new CV axle that is. They run ~$90 each. Thought I would replace when installing my lift. Then reboot my OEM ones as a backup.

The Toyota ones are the best. Anything with a lifetime warranty would be second. In my humble opinion .

Are your old axles broken or just leaking? You could save a lot and avoid downgrading if you can reboot them.

Always re-boot factory axles as they are hardened steel. The brand new replacement axles at the various car parts stores are not hardened and are considerable weaker for off road use.

If you're wheeling hard, stick with OEM from Toyota or CVJ rebuilds. If you're scooting around pavement and dirt roads, run whatever's cheap.

Cvj hands down. Have them put on the silicone boot. Have over 500 miles off road on mine, still like the day I installed them.

The cv and boots are good right now. Going to install my lift soon and want an easy slip in replacment. Will not have the time during the lift install to reboot them unfortunately or I would.

I have read through other posts and most people said the new napa maxlife were the best compared to oem remades.

I'm a hardcore OEM believer, but I just bought these because of this post. :thumb:

Getting ready to lift it, and just wanted to have cheap backups. If I break one or need to have them rebuilt, then I'll put the AA ones in and send the OEM's to CVJ to have them rebuilt. Might just pull them both and send them off to do that anyway, not that they need it but for $102 why not?

That is a smokin' deal. Only issue I have is that there are no Advance auto parts in my City. Makes the lifetime warrenty harder to rely on. I still wonder how they compare to the Napa CVs. BTW, I found the Napa's CVs for $170 for a pair.

Again like stated CVJ if you actually wheel. They rebuild OEM which is the way to go.

True, but with no core charge, you can keep your stock CVs. Reboot them, and if one of the AA ones goes down, throw the OEM one back in and send the AA one back.
