I'm not sure if the tire number correlates to a specific tire to be honest. From what I understand with the TPMS programming procedure, any tire pressure sensor can be programmed to any tire number. It's possible there's a specific order that's used when they're programmed at the factory though.

With the update, everything is cleared out as the previous program is overwritten, but if you include a note asking for any particular XGauges or settings to be set before they're being sent back our update team should put them back in for you.

It's experimental in the sense that it's the latest firmware with the extra code needed to access the TPMS data tacked onto it. It's not been fully tested so there's always a possibility (even though it's a pretty small possibility) there could be a bug in there that would need to be fixed. Thus I always prefer to let people know it's experimental in case any bugs are found. Most likely it will work fine and you'll have a unit with essentially the latest firmware which won't require any updates though.

I believe I can get tire temperature reporting as well. I'll send the XGauges to ehcanadian to try them out and see. If anyone else who's recently updated their ScanGauge to the newer firmware would like to try what I have to tire temperature just send me a PM and I'll toss them your way.

Basically the XGauges will allow you to view the data for tire ID's 1 - 5. What tires correspond to what ID's may be random. Some people may find Tire ID 1 is reporting data from their right rear tire, while others may find it's their left front tire. That's just an assumption on my part, but I think it's a safe assumption. The TPMS registration process allows you to map any TPMS sensor ID to any Tire ID, thus any tire could be represented by any of the Tire ID's.

Ultimately to figure it out you'd just have to air out a tire then check to see which tire ID had a drop in pressure. If you let some air out of your front driver side wheel, and you see the pressure for Tire ID 2 drop, then you'd know Tire ID 2 is your front driver side tire. Once you figure them out you'd be able to then go back and change the XGauge Name to something like FLP (Front Left Pressure) to make it easier to know what a specific tire's pressure is.

I didn't know (or didn't remember) that the XGauge Names could be changed but that should work well then. I'll play it when I get mine back.

I've been playing around with mine, and once I figured out what tire was reading to which monitor, then just put them in that order on the display to correspond, figured it would be simpler.(I was thinking about tire rotations) I'm also brand new to the scan gauge so maybe once I fiddle with it more, things will be easier

I did a little more research here and it appears the 5th gens do not have TPMS in the spare tires, but the #5 TPMS is in the ECU. Would be good to have for those of use who replace wheels/tires with 5 new ones where all 5 wheels have TPMS and would like to monitor pressure in the spare.

Tested my re-imaged Scanguage II today. I had put in the mail last Thursday using regular snail non-priority mail. Got it back yesterday (Wednesday) in a USPS Priority box and very will protected. It was probably better protected than in what I sent them.

All settings were reset back to factory, so be prepared to lose your pre-existing data and renter the settings for your particular vehicle upon first booting up.

New firmware comes with two possible sets of xguages (TP1 through TP5 and TM1 through TM5). There was a note asking to email back with which set reports a reading. [MENTION=178113]ScanGauge[/MENTION] the set that worked on my 2013 4Runner LE was TM. The TP set didn't read anything. As mentioned in post above, TM5 for the spare doesn't report back a reading because my spare doesn't have a TPMS gauge.

It takes up to 20~30 seconds for all 4 gauges to register with the first one registering in only a few seconds. They read a negative number for a while and then start to show the correct reading. The pressure readings increase as the tires warm up as expected. They showed about 2 psi less than my hand held mechanical tire pressure gauge. Not sure which one is right but I think my hand held gauge is a cheap-o so my bet is on the Scanguage.

The Scanguage says one of my tires was a couple pounds less than the rest which was exactly the kind of information I wanted to know. Very happy with the quick turnaround and extra functionality. Thanks again!

Good to hear it's all working - thanks for the feedback! With regard to the tire locations we're not entirely sure. The best way to find out if you can is to let some air out of a tire, see which one drops, then fill it back up and repeat with the next tire.

Silly me! While testing which TM number corresponds to which tire I just realized it’s going to be different for everyone. The ECU and the Scanguage have no idea of your tire rotation and positioning. This means that you will have to retest or remember the rotation order each time you rotate your wheels.

I think I’ll just paint the number on the inside of the tire after determining which is what.

On the screen I’m going to want the results positioned to match the tire’s position on the truck. FDriver = upper left. RPassenger = bottom right. Etc..

I believe the Tire Pressure XGauges we've come up with will work on Tacoma's from 2006 - 2015. If your Tacoma is within that range, feel free to send it in and we'll update it.

I think there's a decent chance what we've come up with will work on most Toyota's with TPMS. If anyone has a non-4Runner Toyota/Lexus/Scion with TPMS feel free to contact us at [email protected] to ask about updating their unit for free to test out what we have. Would love to test this out on as many Toyota/Lexus/Scion vehicles as possible so we can be sure it works well.

Any chance you'll open the cutoff for a 2007 4Runner ? Was there a CANBUS change from 2007 to 2008? I had thought 2006-2009 4Rs had the same setup. Thanks!

[MENTION=178113]ScanGauge[/MENTION] (or anyone on this forum) is there a function on the Scangauge II to have "presets" to quickly rotate through saved groups of 4 guages?

Now I have my tires set to the order of tire rotation (left top gauge is driver front, left bottom gauge is driver rear, etc) it would be nice to save all 4 settings saved as a preset screen. I would love to have the ability to have other user defined presets for groups of 4 gauges for things like gas mileage, performance, temps, etc.

As-is now, I have to cycle through all buttons each time I want to see the gauges I want to see at once. It wasn't such a problem before, but now that I have the tire gauges and want them to display in a certain order, its a PITA to cycle through the buttons when I want to switch to other gauges and back again.

Is this something that you could program into the next firmware release?

Here is the XGUAGE code to program it in, but I think it may already be there as TFT.
