Sat Sept 17th confirmed open for desert playing [MENTION=117408]Oneluv13T4R[/MENTION] otherwise not too much else planned for Sept. Potential of me leading a group of Tacomas up White Mountain the following weekend on the 24th. Then I'm done until Death Valley Thanksgiving week. (I know I keep saying I'm done, but damnit, I'm done after Sept, need to save some cash)
edit: Probably still going to be hot on the 17th, but I'm going to be in the desert regardless and I have air conditioning so tooling around doesn't bother me in the least. Pending Miah's response on whether he's available or not, anyone else is welcome to come meet up of course. I don't plan on being out all day. Also may have a buddy in a Tacoma coming since he lives not too far from Palm Springs too.

I went out to Death Valley for a couple days and didn't find much trail out there I know there is Trail I just couldn't find it. When is the best time to go out there?

When it cools down, hahah. This will be my first year going. I'll be collaborating with some other more experienced guys on the actual trip who know where the trails, dirt, and off the beaten 4wd path cabins to stay at are. I'd start by looking at DV threads and picking up a book or two. Still doing the research myself.

I've been there a couple times the last trip was a 4 day run .. I have all the trails and spots saved and mapped from my trips like [MENTION=123332]Drunner97[/MENTION] is speaking of cabins, drive inside mines, giant crater, natural springs, Charles Manson hideout house (Barkley Ranch) which is surrounded by a lot of the popular trails ...
There's also spot like Titus canyon,
I love Death Valley there's some badass trails from below sea level all the way up to 7000 ft with *****in views at any level out there ..

I'll have a thread started on TW once I get together with one of my co-conspirators and we figure out what's happening and where we're going. The word right now is leaving Monday the 21st, and heading home Friday, but that's subject to change. I have the entire week off for Robbie's thanksgiving break. There's also talk of a deep fried turkey dinner on Thanksgiving so we're definitely shooting for a cabin for Thanksgiving day/night to hole up at.

You are absolutely correct Miah. Once I get a little or a lot more season then I would check it out. Looks fun though. I may have to seriously make some schedule adjustments.

So I went up to Corral Canyon in May because I drive by every time I go to San Diego and I wanted to check it out. Are there trails wide enough for vehicles that aren't on the maps? It seemed like everything was a dirt bike trail and I found one "jeep trail" that was a blue diamond. Nice drive but I got more pinstriping than anything else.

That's funny you mention the trails and pinstriping I was just about to tell [MENTION=133319]MACT4R[/MENTION] that ... That whole area is like that vicious small tight trails and the most pinstriping you will ever encounter the whole entire time. That area has cool unique obstacles but you will loose layers of paint everytime which becomes annoying if you still care about having some what of a decent looking rig.

That's funny...The link with those photos I posted from our last trip to Death Valley were from those same dates last year...Nov 19th - 23rd and the night before that run on the 18th is the day I install my locker without even doing a test run. That morning when we left was the first I even started it and drove it out of the garage headed for Death Valley ...had no idea what to expect or if I had done everything correct ...well apparently I did still good ever since haha

I think I remember you posting about that trip last year. I was still a young'n, figuring out his rig, now I know exactly what it's capable of and I don't even hesitate to try obstacles I would have turned around for a year ago, haha. Should be a good fun week. I'm hoping to keep it a somewhat small (under 10 rigs if possible) group, which I don't think will be too hard since most people tend to spend Thanksgiving with family and we'll be taking off while most people still have work.

My lady and i may in for about 4 days if there's still room. When it comes time. If not its ok I'm sure we will make it out there at some point.

Cool, will keep you in mind too. Right now so far as I know there are only 3 rigs (4 with miah) that are definitely in. It's early on in the planning stages so obviously that can change. Hoping to have an initial plan with the next few weeks so we can plan trails accordingly.
