Hey John, not sure if your still fixing the climate controls. I have T3 and the controls work with the exception for the vent controls. I can/have never been able to control where the heat/air blows. I can control the temperature and speed of the fan and that it. Is this something you can fix or isn’t this another know issue?

Does the LCD show the position changing when you press the mode button?

Yes, everything else works regarding the display. I suspect that the air vent servo that actually moves the air vent controller is either bad or not receiving the commands to move positions because my issue is not like those who have had their unit replaced. I checked camelback Toyota and don'
t see the part or part number, any ideas?

Chances are the servo is bad or the dampers are stuck. Hard to say what's going on.

@JRZ Do you sell a control without a core? My control has a cracked screen so the left half of the display is dead as well as being overall generally possessed by an evil spirit. ( it does what ever it wants to regardless of what I tell it to do.)

No but I can fix your LCD. $50 more for that repair.

So the initial repair is still $45, that's the last price that I've seen mentioned plus $50 for parts/repair of the LCD ?

That's correct. The LCD is a little involved in the removal process plus the cost of the LCD. Still cheaper than what a new/used control would be which would be $200+

No question at all, the few used ones that I've called about on fleabay from recyclers were all basically an 'as-is' purchase because it's an electronic part. What's the best way to contact you to get a shipping address?

I messaged you on ebay as well under this same username but figured this might be easier/faster to reach you.

My climate control unit basically just wont turn off and sometimes acts funny. I was hoping to swap or have it rebuilt. I was thinking i could possibly come to you if you are within a couple hours of me, but if you still have an exchange program I am good to just do that. I am ready to send payment. My car is a 2000 limited V6 if that changes anything.

The auto climate control in my 2000 4Runner is working great but the backlights are out so the display is dim. Is this a simple matter of replacing bulbs or is there more to it than that?

Just need to replace the bulbs. I would replace all of them (the ones for the LCD and the ones for the buttons) while I was in there as I've seen numerous times the bulbs don't work anymore when you "disturb" the control. The old bulb filament breaks when taking the CCU out or putting it back in.

Thanks! Toyota rapes us on these bulbs. Are there standard cross reference numbers for them? I saw some other post referring to them as #74's.

No 74#s are a wedge style bulb. They are used in the shifter light, glove box, the key ring.

The OEM bulbs come with the green silicone covers, which you can get for the LCD backlighting bulbs from autolumination.com. They are different though.

It's just easier for the normal person to get the bulbs from Toyota.

Here's their LED counterpart: 3mm for the buttons, 4mm for the LCD
