What wiring kit are you referring to? It just has wires coming out of the mirror and you tap them into the stock wiring harness.

Got the mirror from ddave57 on eBay.
It came with its own installation instructions zip ties, wire taps and ground ring terminal.
Also the wire cover from the headliner to the mirror base!
Great product and so happy to have auto dimming, compass and outside temperature again

Finally, after having the mirror mounted for like 2 years, got around to wiring it up this weekend. Not sure why I waited so long! I fumbled for a bit trying to find the right wires...then realized I was looking at the wrong harness. Make sure it's the sunroof harness, rather than the map light one.
After that it was 5 mins of wiring and worked like a charm!
Can't remember where I got the mirror, but I believe it was like $20 on eBay. Just had to make sure it had a pigtail. I got the wiring/connectors individually at Advance Auto for like $8

fantastic post, still relevant and helpful all these years later, just less expensive now. mirror for me was 50 bucks on ebay, had to splice some 14 gauge wire to cover the difference as the mirror wires were to short. my wiring job is not as pretty as this post's but (fingers crossed) my wiring seems safe. funny thing, I buttoned everything up, turned the ignition on, and the mirror did not light up. I panicked and started wiggling things around, turns out, I did not plug the mirror back in after removing it to make working around the wires easier! phew! thanks for the detailed write-up. Will

Nope, that is for the factory microphone for NAVequipped 4Runners. For this Gentex mirror, just leave it aside.
Sounds like you connected to an ECU wire rather than a ACC wire.
I installed a Gentex mirror with Homelink/HiDefcamera on my Civic, I love it.
Can you give to me tips how I can activate the settings menu on that rear view mirror?

The right-most button is a settings button, press it and go from there. Very easy. I can't remember exactly how to change settings, but it may involve holding the button down for options. Again, very easy.
