Getting some pretty bad slip when shifting under load from 1st to 2nd gear. Im assuming that my day on the beach being dumb caused quite a bit of the issue (supercharged doing doughnuts on the beach in D and not thinking about the trans going from 1st to 2nd back to 1st etc) Trans feels great other wise so Im assuming that a band is bad (my truck has 240,000 miles with the last 40,000 being boosted and beat on so at this point, im going to mostly consider it pretty routine maintenance since it has held out this long). And yes, I have checked the fluid, i replaced it with amsoil full synthetic about 30,000 miles ago and it is still cherry red and clean.
I tried some Lucas stop slip and it helped a little but I have decided to just replace with a used trans since it is still very noticeable.
I found one from a 98 with 35,400 miles for $250 so im just wondering if anyone has any tips or insight to make the R&R easier.
