Auto up/down switches?

I've always wondered why manufacturers would make only the driver's window auto-anything. I don't know many people who dont have both the driver's and passenger's windows down at the same time.

Can i easily mod my window regulator or switches or whatever to make it so that the two front windows are both auto down and up? I would love to have this feature to save time getting in/out of my truck.

that's exactly what I was looking for. has anyone here installed one of these or know where I would be able to put the control modules?

I haven't installed one... but I think you could probably fit that module in the door panel (take off the panel and you'll see what I'm talking about) between the switch area and the stock tweeter area. There is actually alot of room in there - that's where I put my component speaker crossovers. Just duct taped the Xover to the door and press fit the panel over it. The Infinity Kappa Xover is approximately 5"x3"x1.5", from what I remember.

Hmmm...... that might be an easy and cheap way to make the factory remote raise the rear window. It could probably be done fairly easily. Time to take a look at some schematics.

Hey 44, had time to look at this yet? I REALLY NEED the rear window up function on my key fob. Since adding the bike carrier its a PITA to get the key in there.

Thanks
Mark

You might just be able to obtain some OEM switches from a '99+ Runner but I'm not sure if it's just a direct swap.

Well I do it everyday badging in and out of the parking garage at work. Then there are drive up ATMs, toll booths, flipping off the guy that cut you off. See any number of reasons. :D

But I agree it would be useful if both front windows had it.

No, I have to get my hands of the schematics, but it sure seems like a good possibility. I'd like to see how integrated the circuit is with the rest of the controls.

Does anyone think it would be a posibility to move the sunroof switches to a lower location and add one of these on to the slide function on a 3rd gen? I have to go out and take a look to see if the empty switch covers would work over what would be left empty after taking out the switches from their stock location.

Also if any one was wondering about a 3rd gen install of this on the rear window switch, there is plenty of room once you take the center console out to mount the module.

That's what I was gonna say - I would think you could still buy a replacement switch for a '99-'02 from one of the online parts vendors, but whether or not it would just plug and play I don't know.
