Automatic Transmission upper and lower dipstick Oring?

Tried looking at pics online, and shopping online for diagrams or part numbers. Tried searching haven't found my answer.

I have a fluid leak coming off of my tranny dipstick. It is where the lower and upper dipstick connect. When I replaced my tranny filter and fluid some time ago and reaassembled everything I noticed that i didn't have a gasket or o-ring on the dipstick where it joins together. Is there a oring supposed to be inserted where the two dipsticks connect? I know that there is a gasket that is mounted on the pan for dipstick, but that is not the one im referring too.

My leak is def. coming right where it mates together, and when i refilled the truck with ATF I didn't overfill. I just been scratching my head if I missed something when I reinstalled everything

If your referring to where the dip stick joins the tube coming off the trans pan then yes there should be an o-ring. Part number 9030109011

On my Auto transmission, my diptube is in 2 pieces. Mine leaks where the lower and upper diptube join together, it is not the section that meets the tranny pan.

Forget Toyota for this part. Do what I did: Go to Harbor Freight and get their o-ring kit for about $5 or 6 for about 150 o-rings of various sizes, on size fits perfectly. Then you have a vast selection always on hand for 'non-critical' uses. Everytime I have to remove the trans pan, I replace that o-ring without making a special trip the the stealership. I also replace the small o-ring on the oil dipstick from the o-ring kit.:wof:

Ok I'm curious now — how many times have you had to drop the tranny pan?

I change the trans fluid and filter every 30k miles. I am currently at 293k miles with the next service at 300k. So next servicing will be my 10th time having to remove the trans oil pan. Add another few removals due to leaks from gasket.:banana:

For now, go and clean it up with some isopropyl alcohol and put some RTV around the fitting. :banana:

Is that a full 16qt flush each time or just a 4qt drain & fill?
