aux 115v power outlet

so i was replacing a fuse under the hood a couple days ago and realized that my 05 sport has a fuse for 115v power but i dont have the outlet in my 4r i was under the impression that they didnt put them in until 06.? i was wondering if anyone has added a factory one to their 4r or if anyone has an idea how to do it. also im not sure if there is the wiring already there but if anyone has or can take pics of the wiring going to the outlet would be great. thanks for any help

I have an 05 Limited, my outlet is in the very bottom right side of the center console - terrible location, but it is in there. Sorry no wiring pics for you, I'm still outta the country for another month and a bit but at least now you know where the wires (if any) should come out.

My 03 SR5 has one in the console as well.

oh ok well i guess they came only on some models. i know the location where it is suppose to be i just know i dont have it but saw that i had the fuse for one and just wondering maybe if i could just add one for cheap basically just a plug and play.

nope maybe when huskey gets back home he will be able to help me out unless someone else is up for taking pictures of their outlet and wiring to it

I picked one up at a junkyard for $100. The inverter is located in the rear quarter panel. You will need the switch for the dash,the outlet and wiring that pigtails it, the relay for under the hood and the inverter. All the wiring is there to plug and play. Sorry no pics id have to tear back into to get those.

Just a thought, try to find yourself a Haines manual, they are usually pretty good with diagrams for this kind of stuff.

nope havent made any progress yet. i cant find any junk yards with a 4runner to get parts i might just do a aftermarket install

Has anybody added this? I got my hands on an inverter switch, and found out I have the wiring for the switch, but no outlet. The switch works when plugged into the harness, but obviously doesn’t do anything. Does anybody know if every 4runner has an inverter or just the AC equipped ones. Taking the wheel well trim off is a major pain.


Edit- looks like I’d need to pick everything up, including an inverter.
