Awesome Gas Mileage

On the highway, I get a consistent 10.6 l/100 km which translate into 22.19mpg with my 2011 SR5 4wd.

IMO, this is pretty good since my old stock 2002 CRV was getting 23mpg on the same route.

i have a TE, but i don't think that should make a big difference.

is there a way for the ECU to relearn driving habits, and lean out the air fuel mixture?

I have a 2010 TE and I avg 21 city and up to 23/24 hwy. I live in VT which is pretty mountainous. One trip I did recently coming back from Bennington, VT to Burlington I was getting 32 until I hit Rutland, lot of traffic lights. I glad I waited to get the TE and not SR5, love this vehicle.

Here are the things I think that helped out;

Tail Wind
Air Conditioning off
Windows closed
Tires at 44lbs (thanks Mike)
CC at 58 mph
Cool ambient air
Pure gas (no ethanol)

holy crap, 44psi and 58 mph....one, i think my fillings would fall out with the tires that rigid, and i'd be killed by some old lady doing 75 if i was going that slow.

again, I don't know how you guys get these numbers. I'm in florida, it doesn't get much flatter. How is this possible in VT?

does it get better as the miles pile on. I'm still under 9K miles. I hoping by 10-15K this thing will be better broken in and mileage will improve.

MTBNOLE- I would have thought that the truck was past its breaking in period by now. Any mods that might be causing the decreased MPG'S?
I typically get about 19.5 in city driving and about 24 on highways. This is excellent considering that my wife's 08 Accord gets about 23 city.

OP, were you looking at the current MPG or just recently reset the counter?

I had seen upwards of 35 on my board last night when I accidentally reset mine.. ;)

As mentioned above, this kind of mileage can not be sustained without tail wind or downhill, coasting etc. I've seen 20 to 22.5 almost always. Mine is a 4X4 and unless you stay out of the "green zone" quite a bit, I dont understand how anyone can get less than 19 mpg. I think several posters here have bad driving habbits, especially at take off. I see people with their foot on the gas all the way to the stop sign , then BRAKE!!!!!!!
