Bad Starter...?

Well, took the whole dual battery setup out again and placed it back to stock. Everything is working and almost back to normal. Though something still isn't right. Last two days I went to start the car... cranked right up no problem they just cut out then re-started the truck boom stayed on.

So its dealer time. I fear the outcome...

When I had my battery disconnected for a while while doing work on my t4r it started, then stopped, and ran fine for a bit after. For all we know, the ECU had not finished booting yet when you did that.

You definitely need to get that fixed ASAP!Do let us know what the dealer finds out. I know how irritating a intermittent electrical problem can be.

I suggested the possible Kodiak problem due to ladywolfs and Dlaks past threads with similar problems. Maybe Pm them and find out what they came up with as they never followed up with the fix.

This seems logical now that you mention it

Going to the dealer tomorrow.... I will post a CLEAR outcome to the solution of problem if its found. :moping:

Update: Problem solved

Thanks folks for all your advice and input. It really helped!

I took the truck back to stock configuration for the battery (removed the dual battery setup) and have had no issues now. I got it doubled checked by a dealer here and they couldn't find any issues anywhere. :jump:

I believe the problem was/is within the isolator" For those who don't know what an isolator does/is: An Isolator is required to enable the charging of a second 'auxiliary battery' but at the same time isolate it from the main battery system in order to protect the main battery from discharging into the same electrical circuit.

The even better news as stated before in this thread is that Kodak Industries is standing right behind their product and their batteries. Which within this modern day seems to be more of a rarity! So one happy camper here!
