battery problem

....not sure. Did it click at all or not do anything? I've disconnected & reconnected my battery many times in my truck with no issues on this.

Ya I was wondering of it was a normal thing? It has always done this. You think it could be bad? The second time I try to crank it goes right over.

Hmmmmm, does it sound like the starter may be going or the battery doesn't have enough juice left in it to get the starter going?
What's the weather been like where you live, i.e. ambient temp, super cold at night? How old is the battery? Does the starter make a clicking sound when trying to turn it over?

to better clarify my car starts fine all the time this is just if i disconnect the battery and then reconnect it. the first stat up doesn't turn over the first time. its like the auto hold cranking creature isn't programmed yet.

Ok just wanted to make sure. Anybody have any literature or correct procedures for first time start ups. I have undon my battery 6plus time for numerous things like sub installs and it has happened each time. Glad I don't have a unique issue!

Yea, turn the key.

This isnt an aircraft carrier.

Just seems kinda bad for the car to do this. Seeing if there was a way to avoid it'

What is bad about it, technically? The 3 first cranks of the engine there is no fuel injected. The Toyota ignition system allows oil to circulate before combustion begins. Stalling on the 4th crank does not cause any issues. Toyota obviously knew about this.

Relax.

It CAN'T be a starter problem if it ONLY happens ONCE when you first connect the battery.

I replaced the 7yo battery on my 4runner last month. And when I replaced it...it started right up without any problem.
