No kidding. Up until this weekend, they wouldn't shut up about 2009 when we had two back to back storms similar to the amount of snow this one left. At that point, I lived in an apartment by myself, drove a Toyota Matrix and didn't own a snow shovel. I also had food poisoning. It was a blast.

When a blizzard that affects 25% of the US population hits it is big news! The local governments rely on the media to get the word out for early preparations and real time storm coverage that helps keep vehicles off the roads which is critical for snowplow operation. Rapid snow removal is of the utmost importance or people die because emergency vehicles can't get to their destinations when streets are blocked by stranded cars and nearly 3' of snow. All the trucks resupplying the groceries need rapid access too. Other problems include flooding, power loss, damage caused by hurricane force winds and roofs collapsing.

well, remember, i wasnt saying that we had 4 ft of snow...it was 4 ft of snow from the plow pushing it up next to my parked cars...at the time of the plowing, we maybe had a foot and a half, plus a previous plow run...and thus...3.5-4ft of standing snow, at about 2 feet in width, sitting next to my cars.
in any event...the 4Rnr knocked it down like the tank that it is...

Still no plow here, and in the city of Frederick. Some places like Walkersville the neighborhoods already have a single lane to everyone's houses via front-end loaders. I guess all our city and county taxes (paid by city residents) do all go to school administrator salaries, bonuses and benefits
3ft of snow in front of the 4runner will become 5 feet when a plow makes it, and some of my dim neighbors cleared out their cars by shoveling into the street (now over 4.5ft in the street in some places). So now the normal city plows won't be able to clear the street, and heavy equipment will be needed. I guess if they get their car blocked when a loader+plow make it through, they will throw more snow into the street so their neighbors can't get out. :rant: Official snow fall in Frederick 35".PS on your gas comment, Thursday night, i couldn't get into 2 gas stations due to lines. Found an Exxon that I could pull right in and they were out of 87 octane. Plenty of 89 and 93 octane, but it probably did run out of everything on Friday.

Hey everyone hope you were all was safe this weekend! I have a quick question about my 2015 4Runner that I was hoping someone could help shed some light on. While clearing snow off my car and everything this weekend I noticed that my two rear wheel wells are different looking. If you look at the drivers side rear wheel well it has a plastic cover at the top back part that the passenger side doesnt seem to have. I thought maybe it had ripped off while tearing around in the snow but after examining for a while it looks like the plastic cover never was on the passenger side (no holes or mounting things I can see). Called the dealership today to ask a parts specialist about it and he told me it was a cover for the fuel line on that side but figured I'd ask here and see if anyone could check their wheel wells and see if there's is the same as mine. Greatly appreciate any answers, have a good one.

Taken around 2:30pm on Saturday in Loudoun County, VA. Went with my buddy to his place of business to snow blow some paths for his employees and patrons -- doggy daycare/kennel.
Took back roads on purpose -- pretty windy, snow still falling hard, visibility not so good, roads not so good. Of course the 4Runner handled it all with ease. Was pretty fun. Stopped at a 7-11 on the way back, buddy need to top his Tahoe's tank off -- ended up pushing someone in a mini van out of the parking lot. There was a guy in a big pickup with a plow plowing the parking lot at the time. After I pushed the mini van out he stopped by me and said "I would have left him there, he had no business being out in this shit. ****ing idiot."

[MENTION=66316]1engineer[/MENTION] alright cool thanks haha I just wasn't sure if the parts guy I spoke to knew what the hell I was talking about and since its such a flimsy plastic piece I figured it could fall off pretty easy with tons of snow flying through the wheel well.
This was 6 inches in tn Thursday Friday and Saturday. Completely shut down everything here in Murfreesboro about 30 minutes from Nashville.
