What beach were you on?


I was in Southern Shores Presidents weekend. I've never seen so many trucks with lifts. Must be a requirement for locals.

I stop at Southland on the way out. Great NC style BBQ. Rt. 168 at the NC/VA border.

I got the ticket by the Oregon Inlet, but also rode on the beach down by Hatteras Inlet. It was FUN!

I was up in Corolla at the end of the road last year. I missed the turn for our house and ended up in the off-road vehicles only section. It was a blast bouncing around with my mother-in-law in the back seat yelling at me. I can't wait to go back next year and do a little more "beach combing" with my 4Runner. It was also the first time I was in a hurricane...I don't remember which one it was though...but I got to do some water crossing in the middle of the flooded subdivisions.:D
 
Awesome pics.....driving on beach sand is very fun! I can't believe Johnny Law gave you a tic for donuts tho!! It' not like on pavement where it makes a bunch of noise and leaves marks.....I really don't see what the big deal is!! Just another cash grab I guess :(

No, that was the bridge at Oregon Inlet. I think the one you're referring to is the Wright Brothers Memorial Bridge which connects the OBX to the mainland. It's ~2mi.
 
You could be right. When i was on it, i was going to the outer banks near corolla. Also it was like 4 o'clock in the am, and i was running on like 10 cups of coffee. It sure felt longer than 2 miles though

Forgot to ask earlier. That is a nice wide rear hitch step/guard. What brand/part#/store/$?
And again, how did you do the effects with the pics?

The hitch step is from ICI, it is 38" wide.

The special effects are the standard special effects that built into Sony digital cameras. Solarize was used in the first pic, and Negative Art was used in the last pic.

All traffic laws still apply on the beachs. If you don't do donuts in traffic in NJ you shouldn't do them on the beaches of OBX.

If you read my post you would have known that I was miles from any other people. Doing donuts in the sand on a deserted beach is far from doing it in traffic (not that I haven't done donuts on pavement, not in traffic). Thanks for telling me what I shouldn't be doing (you sound like a cop).
