Bed Liner Rocker Panels

I am looking to coat my rocker panels with a bedliner, I want to do a tan colored roll on bed liner. Any suggestions on brands or quantity of bed liner needed?

I have yet to see a roll on bedliner that doesn't look splotchy. Spray on is where its at. The rustoleum spray in the can looks pretty good but its thin. Ive used raptor spray on bedliner from ebay with good results. Its more expensive than the spray can and you will also need an air compressor.

I'm doing my whole truck in this in 2 weeks Monstaliner do-it-yourself roll-on truck bed liner it's the best and easiest product out there. I will post pictures when I'm done, if you want to wait that long

I have some really old raptor bedliner that I'm going to spray my modified Rola roof rack with next week. I also have a link of where ive used raptor bedliner before.

From personal experience stay away from duplicolor's bed armor. Herculiner is good but I agree with the spray on sentiment. The rattle cans don't do a great job in my experience, but if you thin it out herculiner you can use an air compressor and paint sprayer.

You CAN get even consistency with a roll on if you work at it though. I did the entire interior of my 72 scout and it looked pretty close to the Line-X job that I had done on the bed of my old tacoma (at less than 1/4 the cost). The big question is what's most important to you: the quality of the job done, the cost of the job, or your time? The job I did on the scout took north of 70 hours in prep and paint. The Line-X job cost around $500. If you want to try and take the easy way out it's just not going to look good or last.

If you wind up doing it be sure to read the instructions thoroughly, mask off the body line you want to follow and take pictures for us! Everybody loves a good write up of a garage project.

I have a good sized dent on my driverside rear and bare metal was exposed in a few places. I used the rustoleum rattle can bedlliner on my truck a few years ago and then hit it with some charcoal metallic rustoleum a couple minutes later. It still looks pretty much like the day I did it.

I used Durabak when I did my rocker panels and hood a couple years ago. It has a built in UV protectant so it has held up really well. If you plan on doing it yourself, just make sure you focus on the prep work because it will really determine how well everything comes out.

If your bedliner gets stained or faded just spray it with a can of spray paint. It will look brand new again.
