Beeping sound

I recently purchased a new 2012 SR5 with only the power seat and sunroof options. I love it so far (3k miles), but there is a strange single beep from the dashboard or other location up front that occurs every 5 minutes or so. At first I thought it was the backup warning system, but it still occured when that was turned off. I also though it might be the stereo or Xm radio, but it occurs with the key out of the ignition and the stereo turned off (as well as while driving). I know it has to be something simple. Any ideas?

Thanks for the replies. I don't know whether it is the bluetooth pairing as I haven't messed with that (no bluetooth phone, yet). It happens when the doors are shut and the vehicle isn't running.

I don' remember hearing it in the last couple days. I don't know whether I have just become accustomed to it or it has stopped. Mybe the rear liftgate window was not fully shut?

It could very well have been a door or rear hatch not fully shut as you will get beeping if you take it out of park in that condition. You will also see the door open light on the instrument panel.

It's the Gremlins way of asking for food. Do not feed them.....if you do, all hell will break loose in your truck and the sounds it will drive you nuts......be safe.

Keep in mind that the rear door hatch might not be closed all the way, and the dash light for the "open door" will NOT come on. That has happened to me a couple of times. But I now know what the sound is and the rear door hatch is the first thing I check!

I know that when I am backing into an end spot at the parking lot at work and the curb is on my side I'll open the drivers door to get as close as I can and there will be a beeping sound as well. Door ajar?

Wasn't somebody getting a beeping sound from their backup sensor catching sight of an installed ball hitch? Long shot...

Thanks for the suggestions guys. The noise seems to have disappeared. I have tried to see if I could get it again, by leaving the rear window cracked, the sunroof open and the doors/hatch ajar, but no luck.

It was strange because it occurred both while driving and standing still, with the ignition on and off, and with the key in the ignition and out. It also occurred with all the doors closed (and the driver's door open). During the weeks that this was going on, I shut the hatch and doors multiple times, so I don't think it was a door ajar warning (though it could have been a rear passenger door).

I got the what that sounded like, and it was different. I also considered that it might be the back up sensor, so I shut that off and it still beeped.
.......Very strange.
