Hey Guys and Gals,

I've been on and off reading this forum for about a year now and I have really benefited from the information and opinion's y'all share. (Thank YOU!!!!) The 2011 Runner is my first and even though I'm green when it comes to the truck and modding I'm happy to be getting a little dirty with it. 'BeerShark's Brewers Log' will be my journal of attempts to add to the collection of T-4R.org's pics, mod's, and opinions as I build out and spend more dough than I should on my vehicle. Seat Heater Install - Planning

After reading some great threads:
Mijfwb23 'Seat Heater Install'
T4RUSAF 'Aftermarket Seat Heaters..',
Will Wet Okole heated seat covers work with Toyota factory switches?

And downloading the manual from nashman69g (Thank you for posting this, your responses in the above threads, and more. A tremendous help!)

I decided to get a set of WarmSeats Waterproof Seat Heaters from Amazon.com for $85 each. They arrived in less than a week and have the harness, switches, and instructions included. The plan is to install these in the next few weeks. Both the driver and passenger front seat will get bottom and back heaters, and their switches will be located in the stock position and have hi/low/off settings.

Thanks to all who have pioneered this mod and left a trail for me to follow. :hatsoff:

Seat Heater Install - Planning - Part Deux

Had some set backs with the holidays and garage space being taken up.. hope to get after this mod real soon cause its gettin cold!!!

iphone Mount using ProClips

So while I dont have garage space or the time to install my seat heaters I took the time to make the Otterbox iphone mount I've been wanting.

I picked up the ProClip dash attachment and skipped buying the phone attachment from them because it was another $40+ and not fully functional as I would have liked.

Then I made a pattern of the ProClips pre drilled holes and transcribed that onto the disassembled otterbox iphone belt clip. (side note: I actually saw the "how its made" where they assemble the otter box belt clip and that inspired this idea) Next drill some starter holes, get the right screw, install, reassemble, and enjoy!

After using this mount for a week I really like it... it puts the phone at a great angle to view and use with the belt clip angle feature and turns 360 for viewing in landscape or portrait mode. It ever-so slightly blocks the stereo display, but not enough to complain. I really like that it fits my otter box case perfectly, allows for me to plug in the phone to the charger, and there is no gluing or drilling of my dashboard.
