I need to start snapping more pics of this type of thing. I see it often here, just never have a camera handy. nor think about taking a crappy phone pic.

Didn't the 2500's come with a 14 bolt? I know the newer ones (I believe 01+) are AAM's and are solid as hell.

yes, a 2500 should have a 14 bolt. however, the axle pictured is a 10 bolt.

some 1500 HD had semi-floater 14bolts, they were the 9.5, not the 10.5 full floater version.

Yeah i did say 2500...it was debadged...and i thought it had 8 lug wheels at first but it didn't. The owner said he was stuck in snow back and trying flooring it in 4low and then snap. ....i think he was rocking it back and forth for awhile

I made a friend today!



Customer has a bad rodent infestation and the wife opened the door and saw this guy on the floor and was like, "NOPE!" By the time the husband was called in the little guy got himself in the dash.

While waiting on the insurance to get back to us on how to tackle the rodent droppings and such he made his way out of the Prius.

Then at the end of the day as I'm talking to the service writer about the car a second snake just falls out of the Prius while it's on the rack; made my day.

Guy buys 2002 subie outback......off Craigslist...starts drive home makes it 7 miles...leaks oil, catches fire which he gets out....has it towed here. I start it...runs for 5secs,knocks and shuts off...rod comes thru the block

They told him it had new headgaskets and timing belt and battery......i asked if he got any receipts...he said ummm i didn't see any.

That's awesome. When I bought my '01 Outback the PO had a stack of 12 years worth of receipts, all from the same shop documenting the entire 130,000 miles of its life. I almost jumped for joy, never bought a car that was that well documented.

I'd have to bet here the PO/seller met up at a random location and isn't answering anymore phone calls.

There is no way in hell they did this sale at the PO's home.

Yeah i didn't want to get into that...i mean they told him it had a new battery and you can clearly see where just cleaned it off,barely....so he obviously didn't know much about cars at all. Now he wants to price a new engine....

I have seen someone use picture hanging wire to hold their caps onto their steelies. In the end I hope your shop charged them for new zip ties.....

Lol well it was a customer who had just purchased the car for his daughter so all in all it wasn't "that" bad. But it looked like they got junk yard wheels and cheap hubcaps.

Driveshaft

Please help...trying to replace driveshaft in 2001 4 runner and it will not come out of the transmission. What is happening?

Tried prying it out, and it 's not budging.

Thanks for any assistance.

You don't want to pry it out. The driveshaft bolts onto a flange coming out of the transmission or the transfer case. You undo the four bolts and tap it loose with a hammer and it'll fall right out.

Search around a little bit. Then you don't clutter up other peoples threads. This topics been covered a bunch. Happy sailing.
