Belly pan?

So our 4runner is about 4 hours old for us and after getting home and really giving it a good look over I noticed this. Am I missing a belly pan / splash pan??? Yes that is my flip flop down there. Hood open and a pic straight down. Is this normal?

Nothing like a cold nite to check things. Yes, I can see my tennis shoes. CA guy here up in OR. 2007 SE V6

Ok cool. The tundra and the magnum both have belly pans.

The 4runner is used but now in a good home. The front does need a bit of help in the looks department. Will that skid plate from toyota fit? The bottom one?

My bro-in-law just bought an 09 Urban Runner (he's long had 4Runner envy!) and his came with a front skid plate - I might have to get one - or steal his! His is a 2x4 V6 and will rarely (if ever) really go offroad - so what's he need it for!

Wonder what one costs?

i heard the stock toyota skid plate is worthless. can someone confirm?
Which skid plate are you talking about - the front one or the other original ones? The original ones, that cover the engine, tranny and gas tank are not that strong. But I wouldn't call them "worthless." They have saved my underside many times. I will say that I have had to beat them back into shape, and the ones in front are mangled pretty well - to the point that if they take much more, I will probably have to replace.

Speaking of which, if I do replace the engine/tranny skid plates, is there a better (stronger) after-market one to get?

Yeah, those Budbuilts are a pretty serious looking item! I don't know if I could justify the cost of one though - does anybody know the price of the factory ones?

Im picking this one up for sure. It looks cool. Ya, after snooping around and researching the skid plate its pretty much a "looks" thing. When I get serious into off roading Ill sell it to a member here. Hehehehe.

The JAOS appears to bolt over the stock skid plate. I wonder if they sell just the very front piece--makes a great piece to protect the lower part of the radiator from road debris.

Personally, I prefer Budbuilt or AlexJet's.

I love my BudBuilt plates!!! They are wonderful and have saved me a few times. I don't know if the damage that would have occurred w/o them is worth the cost of the plates, I am sure though that over the lifetime of the vehicle they will payoff! For 900 bucks and some piece of mind, why not! Imagine taking a serious hit to the xfer case, oil pan, tranny, or gas tank
