I used that NAPA one also in january of 22. My passenger side boot is already ripped. I moved to Maine and used my 4WD a lot more this past winter than I ever did in Kentucky but think it should"ve lasted longer.

If you have your receipt, just go into a local Napa and they'll warranty you a new one.
I think you might have the first torn boot that i've heard of. I wonder if something snagged it maybe? Weird stuff happens when you go rallying sometimes.
Daughter was antagonizing me from the back seat about not driving fast through a sizable water crossing..... so on the way back out we did a full send through the water. Wasn't gonna hear anymore of her horse hockey....lol. 4lo and wrapped out in whatever's gear it was. BBBBBAAAAAAAWWWwwwwww........ and then it was not running..... well hell. Great. I thought I just swamped the engine. Cranked it nervously, and it spun like normal. Took a sec but started right up. Sounded fine, so we went. Checked the air filter when we got back and it was normal and without water.... I think I created the perfect situation for the wheel wells to get full in just the right spots with the high rpm that it just ran out of air at the fender intake was all.
The belly on my 3rd gen is scratched AF now too..... time fo some more roll bar paint. That's what I get for treating it like a side by side with A/C[emoji16].
Maybe just make sure nothing is touching the cv boot and that it's not operating a a weird angle or something.

Exactly why I went with Napa, excellent point made. God forbid mine tear, break or otherwise have some sort of defect. At least I know I won't have to spend that money again on new axles. These things are solid and legit heavy duty.

I have decent success with NAPA as 2 of my rigs are rocking their New axles.
I have to reboot a few oem axle sets. Supposedly OEMs will last forever under normal use if they don't rust away under the ones that have dampeners.
Just will need new boots from time to time. ;-)

I totally agree. I just bought a set of the same from CVJ. They also rebuild steering racks. I was quoted $440 w/ $225 core.

I was wondering what the oem boot kit ran.
Napa are new and around $100 each. Standard and they also sake an extended cv axles for those who lift.

I really wish I had the funds to SAS the rig already. My son can do the work, but its like $10K do it the way I want.

I only used the standard length one. I told my brother. If his 2 inch suspension lift rips anymore boots. He may have to run those cv axle shafts.

The ones that [MENTION=373697]Endlessblockades[/MENTION] mentioned also seem to fit our rigs, I just verified through NAPA's website. Wasn't sure if they did at first since they had a different p/n associated with it.

went with the same. ~5k miles on them, still look brand new. Only pain is if you need to pull them, takes some tinkering with the dust shield to get enough purchase.

I second this, although not 100% positive, I think when buying them like this vs from NAPA, they won't come with the same warranty. Again, not 100% positive so to whoever is reading my comment please do your research first.
