really? i've always though pretty poorly of Fry's. Expensive, non-existent sales staff, won't price-match their website (maybe that's changed at this point), and nothing is ever in stock...and if it is, it's 3 isles down from where it's supposed to be, randomly placed on the bottom shelf.

You should try it! Works great. I just get the stuff i want and then walk over to register and show them Amazon prices on my iPhone. They check and give me that price + tax. It is useful for things that i want now instead of waiting 2 days for PRIME shipping. Personally, i have not had much issue with refunding at BB.
Same here. Frys has always struck me as an overprice warehouse of goodies that i can buy cheap elsewhere.

I haven't walked into a BB in years. The last time I was in one they wanted $144.00 for a 6' (Monster)HDMI cable with no alternatives. I went on Amazon and got one just as high quality for $7. I haven't been to Best buy since.
I do miss Circuit City. They had great prices on new DVD's. They were about to open a new store right by my house when they went bankrupt. They had the signs up and everything.
Fry's is great when you want computer parts or need a certain connector that you won't find anywhere else. They also have good sale prices. I don't go there very often but I did pick up a few things a few days ago for a new computer I am setting up.
I mostly get stuff from Amazon Prime. I just know prices beforehand. Click and it's at you door in 2 days, sometimes 1 since there is a local distribution center nearby.
For TV's Costco is usually the best place to get them since they usually double the warranty. My current 70" one went bad after 6 months and I had a replacement delivered in about a week.

My mom insisted on getting me some computer speakers (mine are 14yrs old) for a late Xmas gift.
Went to Fry's and they have signs for price matching now, they matched my speakers when I found them 10 dollars cheaper on Amazon. So maybe they are finally catching up with the times?

In Canada we used to have Future Shop but they were bought out by Best Buy. Several Best Buy locations were built right across the street from a Future Shop. Eventually they closed all the Future Shops.
Once I tried ordering a phone case online from BB. They showed stock so I placed my order. Days later I get an email saying the item is out of stock. Check the website, showing several in stock. Call and get some explanation that there is a delay. Watched the stock go up and down for a couple of days before they finally cancelled my order. Got a refund plus a small credit for a future purchase that was time limited. Hasn't stopped me from shopping there but I do look elsewhere first.

Most of the time they'll say if it'll actually be '2 days' or not. At least it's free. (with Prime subscription of course). Mostly only happens during the holidays. I must have a UPS/Amazon dropstation near my house because whenever I order something from Prime, I can expect it on the delivery day between 9 am and 9:30 am. Never fails.
