Best CB Radio Antenna?

What is the best cb radio antenna money can buy? How about the best bang for buck??

I have a Radio Shack TRC-503 I recently acquired and need an antenna for it. Would like it to be sleek in presentation though.

that would be an "opinion" they all are the same basic parts, the thing to do is, make sure to get a brand name, FireFly, Wilson, FireStick etc, AND get it TUNED, set the SWRs and you will be good.

Commercial 27 mhz. base loaded antenna NMO

The Firestik is fine, I used one happily for years, but I changed to a commercial grade Comtelco base loaded whip with NMO mount and it has blown the Firestik away.

I recommend a commercial base loaded antenna (Comtelco or Laird/Antennex) with NMO mount.

How much distance do you want to be able to cover with your CB?

When I go out, I travel in groups and can pretty much see all the other vehicles, so I don't need to cover much distance with my CB.

If you plan to use your CB like me, you can just pick up a basic antenna and it will work fine

I used 2 magnetic Radio Shack antennas and they are piece of ... The magetic was not strong enough for bushes on trails. I ordered Wilson Little Wil but haven't use it yet (still in box). I searched and found many positive feedbacks.

the choices listed above are all good - wilson makes an excellent antenna (the 1000/5000 series are quite popular among the hardcore users here). i don't really have any experience with the wilson fiberglass antennas, though.

used a couple of firestik antennas with good results, but sort of moved on to skipshooters (also fiberglass antennas) and the good ol' 102" whip.

if you have $$$ burning a hole in your pocket, expect to run excessive (way above legal) amounts of power, you may want to consider something like a predator or monkey made open coil antenna. big, bulky, heavy, and very conspicuous - but they handle ridiculous amounts of power and get the job done.
